I'm curious to what's coming with the registry updates at SGC- I've been actually holding my set to wait and see (well, that and current wait times- I actually thumb through this set often and would miss it at current wait times!). I think there's a small chance that they could give PSA's some good competition...

Third Party Grader

I would wait until Nationals are over. SGC will be changing their label design, ditching the 1-100 scoring system and adding 9.5 grade as well to be an in between of PSA and BGS.

Anyone go to Fan Fest? I'd love to see what kind of display topps did for The Living Set. Is it just a board with picture of a few cards... Do they have the complete set up til now on display?

Share some pictures!

Living cards #46-51 arrived in the mail yesterday. All in perfect condition. I think whatever changes they made in the stock are going to end up making non-10 PSA’s the rarer card as opposed to actual 10’s. Haha.

Btw, the Aaron #46 is probably my favorite of the set thus far. Looks freaking sweet in person.

What changes do you think they made in the card stock? I have been purchasing 3 sets from day one and didn't notice any difference at all.

There's still a lot of the old stock going out. Using up what is left? Because I open one case and it's all perfect. Open the next and immediately can tell the difference between the two. I would imagine that soon we will only see this new one. Just speculation on what I see.

Centering is still an issue. Unfortunately in my opinion 'most' of these badly centered cards don't bring down the overall quality of the card enough to return when the nameplate is perfect.

Have you seen any of the old stock on players after Soto? I noticed right away when I got that week’s release the stock was different. Still waiting on the Hank Aaron week.

Yes. I am going through some Aaron right now, they arrived the same day. Definitely a mixture in here.

I can’t help but think all these perfect cards hurt the set at least a little. I’d prefer PSA 10s to be a bit rarer.

I will guess that before long, good looking raw examples will sell for close to the same as gem 10s.

I'll never grade these - I'm committing the heresy of carefully placing them in 9 pocket pages so they can viewed three sets at a time. I insert the cards carefully, open the binders gently and store the binders carefully. I figure the binders I use will hold 4 years at a time.

I actually mean both.

Flippers buy to sell for more money.

Collectors, in some instances or more, “collect” what they perceive to have value, and/or what they think will grow in value.

If pop reports grow fast enough, perceived value could go down. Which I would guess could be a negative for both flippers and collectors.

Just an opinion.

I doubt that will happen. If the later weeks and going forward in PSA 10 condition sell for $50-$85, I think we should all be happy. Of course the first few weeks will continue to be big money.

I'm not worried about it. I think it's great that conditions are improving so greatly. That's the key here.

I completely agree...$50 to $80 going forward for Gem 10s would be great. I'm worried they're going to be less than that.

Today I saw a raw Gleyber Torres sell for $13.50 plus shipping. I saw a gem mint sale of only 3 times that, free shipping.

If raw are going for 1/3 of gems, I think there are too many gems out there.

I'm probably wrong. I hope I am. I like being wrong in these instances.
Otherwise I say, caveat emptor.

Has anyone been right on anything yet about Living though? Besides this week with Scherzer, but that doesn't really count since it was confirmed.

Probably only those of us that started buying during week 1?

So I hear on this thread there are different card stocks now. Can someone please a picture of their old and new stocks? I’d like to see the differences.

Go back one page to post 6039.

I have a similar reaction to the Soto cards.

Received my 20 Sotos. Id say 15 have a great shot at PSA 10s. The other 5 have very minor issues, a little surface issue, small blemish here or there, centering is great on all the cards. Pretty much zero ink issues. I wish it started with the quality of these cards.

I am working on a site/DB for TLS that I will definitely add this to.

So far, I have accounted for 2 Errors- The Morrow and the Jackie R.; are there any others I am missing?

Thanks!
