Oh nooooooo I forgot it's thanksgiving already lol. I was looking at the cards I sent and they're definitely worth less than $499 (especially now 4 months later lol) so I don't think it's upcharge. Guess it's just the flow that is slow.

Yea so now I am realizing that if I submitted it to CGC I might have already had made a better return because the card would have been back to me before the prices dropped

Well I got my pop ..... I thought they were closed on weekends
Order Type: Economy # of Cards: 47 Received per FedEx: 7/9/20 Received per PSA: 8/7/20 Research: unsure Grading: 8/25/20 Assembly: unsure QA1:unsure but I think 11/5/2020 QA2:11/9/20 "Details" no longer visible: 11/18/2020 Shipped: 11/21/2020 So because this was my first order with multiple cards (before that was always single card that got PSA 10) I had a friend that helped me setup my order to ship to PSA since he's sent several hundred cards to PSA in the last few years. He narrowed down my pile from over 120 cards down to the 47 I sent in, basically if he didn't think it would grade 10 we didn't send it, except for a few cards that were for my PC that I didn't really care what the grade would be. Out of 47 cards I got ...... 7 PSA 10!!! About half were 9, about 25% were 8 and 2 cards got a 7! Now for the funny part, my PC cards all got 9 or 10, those were the ones we were expecting 7-8 on lol. One card my kid pulled a few years ago (he was probably 9 or 10 at the time) and it was in a storage bin along with a few hundred other cards, no sleeve no toploader. Then last year he put it in a binder and back in June I pulled it to have it graded. My friend said that one could get as low as a 5 ...... it got a 10! There were 3 of the same cards from this year's Finest we sent in and 1 of them he said would not get 10 because of refractor line and very fine scratches on the top surface, so he said put that one on the top of the pile and the other 2 below this way they see the worse one first. Well that top one got a 10 ..... and the other two got 7 and 8. I just spoke to him, he doesn't remember all the cards exactly since it was in late June he saw them but he's as confused as I am lol. My "biggest" card in the shipment was a Robert/Alvarez dual auto numbered to 25, which at the time had sold once on eBay for $265 I think. He said it should be a 10, but maybe a 9 because sticker auto and he was saying some graders consider that something added to the card and lower the grade. It graded 7 ...... ouch. And of the (I think) 18 Robert RC from series 2 I had he picked only 2 that he knew for sure would get a 10 .... They got 8 and 9! Either I got a very very very picky grader or that guy's big collection of PSA 10 cards is fake and he doesn't know what he's talking about when he looked at my cards lol |

Some cards may be better off sold raw unless you are able to use express/super express service to get the card back and sold before the value heads south.

Edit: It was bothering me so I called him to ask him again, he said he had a couple cards with authentication sticker (I thought it was an auto sticker but I was wrong) that came back PSA 10 but with a "MK qualifier" on it and he said he couldn't see anything on the card so he figured it was from the sticker And no lol he didn't charge me anything, he was just trying to help but now he feels bad he said. When we reviewed the cards, we basically started by looking at the centering of the front (which on cards without a frame is harder unless you have a few to compare) and then the back (which I hadn't even thought about until he told me they check centering front and back lol) then we looked at the corners, and then along the edges, basically looking at the "layers" that make up the card making sure they aren't separating, and that if the surface (front or back) has a darker color make sure the white doesn't show. If that was all good we would look at the surface of the card front and back, making sure there were no scratches or defects from manufacturing. I had started with over 120 cards that I thought were gradable and he narrowed them down to I think about 30-35, the rest was cards I kept in because they were PC and I didn't care if they didn't grade 10. That would seem counter-intuitive, unless of course they'd rather get less business lol. But how would the grader know? Last edited by 71sbeetle; 11-21-2020 at 11:25 PM. |

I know turnaround times are all over the place but does anyone have a guess on the regular and express turnarounds for a 1 card order? I have a mosaic gold reactive of Justin Herbert that I want to get back but only want to do it if I can get it back fairly quickly.

15 card economy order submitted in July is wrapping up this past week and looks like it will go into this week before getting shipped out. 8/15 Gems. Up-charged on two cards (hence why it will take time to ship out): 1) up to $200 on a Lebron 221 rookie (I had this as a 9) and 2) up to $50 on a Luka Prizm base rookie (I had this 8-9).
I asked to up my insurance and I guess PSA is working on it although I have already been charged the original amount of insurance on my debit card. My shipment is apparently in hold per the rep at PSA. Anyway, any suggestions on what to sell to cover $600 in grading fees? Zion 2019 Prizm Base - 9 (need this for my set) Luka 2019 Prizm Silver - 10 Trae 2019 Prizm Fast Break Blue - 10 Luka 2018 Prizm Base - 10 Lebron 2019 Optic Purple Shock - 9 Bol Bol 2019 Optic Holo - 10 Lebron 2003 Topps 221 - 10 DWade 2003 Topps 225 - 9 DWade 2003 Topps 225 - 9 (Can't seem to gem a DWade) Carmelo 2003 Topps 223 - 9 Carmelo 2003 Topps 223 - 10 Bosh 2003 Topps 224 - 10 Bosh 2003 Topps 224 Black Border - 8 (Pop 1 Card) Lamar 2018 Prizm Base - 9 Ozzie Smith 1993 Leaf Heading for the Hall - 10 (need this for my set) |

I have a couple bulk orders at PSA -
Order #1: Arrived 10-3-2020. Still not "Entered" Order #2: Arrived 11-17-2020. Entered 11-23-2020 What date is PSA, in a general sense, at for bulk? Mid-July?
