I like his Luminance the best. Obviously on the cheaper side but it’s all good, I was able to scoop numbered versions for the low. Got a purple, a red and a red psa 9. All dumb cheap
One that’s not popular but I like is Essentials. I got a purple jersey color match/jersey numbered 1/49. Beautiful card Because he’s high risk I personally didn’t go after anything too crazy, price wise. Just scooped the low hanging fruit of cards I like, if he don’t pan out I’m def not over-leveraged Last edited by PSA2Pac; 11-09-2021 at 11:33 AM. |

https://www.instagram.com/reel/CR96-...8-5dbd57c02105 After some responsible journalistic digging, I've come to the conclusion the foot injury was a mere guise for his Turok: Snowbunny Hunter adventure woes. Thicc on thicc on thicc...with all that gyrating flesh colliding, something was eventually bound to give. His 5th toe the unfortunate martyr. Son was going hard in the paint, for sure. Can't knock the hustle.

Stunned at how low everything is dropping. I mean, there is a chance for a 3-5x come up here with the right cards if he shocks the world. I refuse to believe a guy who averaged like 27 and 7 and scored at will is going to completely flop. I think I only have about 10k invested in him. Might be worth dropping another 10-15k.

At this point all he has to do to beat expectations is show up and not collapse into a pile of nacho cheese. Plenty of low-ish pop stuff available that should go up if he puts together a month or two of solid play. Unfortunately the Pelicans are hot garbage so not sure if people will simply not care even if he does come back. |

Maybe he had 4 hoodies and 6 pairs of shorts in that training video just to troll everyone. I mean, if he saw the Trent Richardson photo shoot pic and wanted to troll everyone, that's one way to do it.

People don’t know when to cut losses and move into something else. Most people make the mistake of looking at higher past prices and not wanting to sell because they’re lower now. But never considering how much lower they might go. Time to buy Zion is going to be after he comes back, later in the season. I suspect there are a lot of people waiting for his return before they get out, and that prices will worsen from here.

I'm fully in the Zion bandwagon, but:
He had a Jones stress fracture (type II or III) of his right 5th metatarsal bone. This is a concerning injury with a high recurrence rate - about 1 out of 3 NBA players who have had this type of surgery required a second surgery at some point. Some players with multiple Jones fractures ended up fine (Durant), and others didn't (Big Baby Davis). The prognosis is variable and depends on a lot of factors; weight being one of them. I don't care about card sales (I see some of you have some nice Zion cards for sale in your eBay stores), but I do care about the person, big Z. After all the flak he's caught recently, I think that he'll at least figure the weight issue out. His skills never went away - it's his foot and the Pelicans that I'm most suspicious of at this point.

This is all that needs to be stated.
How many Zion cards are really worth owning and what kind of deal do you think you could get on them? You might catch a handful of decent Zion cards on an “out of sight, out of mind dip”, but nobody is going to let anything serious go. Nor should they at this juncture. The majority of Zion cards are just fodder, but the best of the best are going to be tucked away until he proves himself one way or the other and that’s going to take years. |

And now for some good news:
There are plenty of big men in the NBA who have overcome Jones fractures in the past without any recurrence (Pau Gasol, Julius Randle). Brook Lopez suffered a Jones fracture in 2011, and subsequently had 3 foot surgeries in the span of 2 years due to complications. Then this happened last season: Also, there have been some advancements in Jones fracture repairs over the past few years, and we can only assume that Zion is receiving the most up-to-date care possible. As long as the bone fully heals, the hardware stays in place, and there's no soreness, athletes can pretty much do everything they could prior to the injury (as opposed to ACL/MCL tears, where you might expect a slight loss of explosiveness).

I thought I mentioned "low-ish POP"?
Anyway, yes regarding card stuffs I think the mass-produced retail stuff is never going to come back, there are literally thousands of sad-sacks waiting for their precious Prizm/Optic/Select/Mosaic base cards to bounce back up, and at the first sign of upward momentum they're all going to dump them and cause the pricing to stall out. But regarding the "good stuff", these types of market conditions always lead to scared hands and things flying under the radar, so I've still been able to pick up a few pieces: - Court Kings and Revolution are kind of my wheelhouse anyway, so found a few good deals. Level 2-4 POP are super low, I've been planning to do a writeup on the spike in Level 1 production in 2019 just haven't got around to it yet, but surprised at the prices I was able to get Level 2 gems for. Oh, and got a Revolution Fractal PSA 9 for $87, that has to be some kind of record for that card. - Chronicles is probably the definition of overproduced, but at the same time I feel like $40 gems are a fine buy, there's a good chance they bounce back to $60 before they ever fall to $20. Current pricing is based on all the $10 grading cost-basis folks getting their grading fees back, but once the backlog clears, that supply is completely finished. Personally, I prefer having a full "rainbow" of Chronicles over a single Prizm. We'll see what the market looks like in a year, but it's a pretty low stakes gamble regardless. - One and One looks like a keeper, I think having it as a recurring brand should help cement it's value. Saw a couple of those get dumped early but now it's back to pretty slim pickings. When's our next update on big boi's health? |

No lies detected^
Speaking of Griff. New Orleans Pelicans Vice President of Basketball Operations David Griffin and former Pelicans head coach Alvin Genty recently had a heated exchange. Following the Pelicans home loss to the Kings in late-October, Griffin approached Gentry to say "hello." That greeting ended in the two being physically separated. When Gentry, now a Kings assistant, was coaching the Pelicans, Griffin reportedly told people around the NBA that he'd given Gentry "all the answers to the test, and he still fails". When Griffin approached Gentry following this recent game, Gentry reportedly shouted "You must not have given Stan the answers to the test, either." That led to the two being physically separated. Griffin has recently been under fire for not being forthcoming about Zion Williamson's broken foot suffered this past offseason. Griffin's building of the Pelicans roster has also come into question, as the Pelicans are an NBA-worst 1-11 this season. |
