There's too many parallels for anyone to care besides silver and numbered cards.

15k might as well be a million.

/99 is not even that rare and I can buy those players for cheap.

Both are great options. Here's how I break it down:

Sealed Sets:
$400 sealed
$400+ if you rip
$400+++ if you rip and hit something big

Megas:
$180 sealed
Likely <$60 if you rip
$180+++++++++++++ if you rip and hit something big

Singles prices for the Pulsars have leveled off especially with the silver parallels (and numerous other parallels) hitting the market. Outside of Zion/Ja, the base RCs from the non-pulsar Hoops Premium Stock retail products are all under $10.

$400 for a set sealed is the safest play. I recouped the costs of two sets (while keeping Zion/Ja cards and several other key cards) but it took a lot of work. The sets true value is based on what you hit in the pulsar pack and since they aren't #'d only time will tell through POP reports at how scare they are.

At the current value of the sets, I wish I would have kept more sealed. However with that being said, had I not opened the last set (9 total opened) - I wouldn't have hit that Gold Zion Pulsar!

So i finally opened some retail up, 14 Cellos, and man..brutal lol. I would never pay more than MSRP to rip this. Relative small sample size, but best base rookies were Rui and RJ, best and only notable silver Rui Base RC, Best Laser Coby White Tribute and Rui Base, Best Color, Giannis Green. Pulled a Numbered blue laser of..Diallo lol. Got a Courtside Blue Prizm of Lebron too. Still a fun break

Not sure how anyone can rip if not MSRP. It's been brutal for me as well. Out of 2 blasters and 4 cellos, my best were a zion tribute silver, Spida courstide silver and trae courtside blue. Still a fun rip but not sure how you get your money back ripping with secondary prices right now

Thanks i was definetly taken back as it was the top card which caught me off guard. I had my set and last pack up for sale but just decided to end it cause i had to see what was in the pack. Kept the set sealed and opened the loose pack and figures it was all vets. Luckly there was a green LUKA in it though. Now i just gotta keep my hands off of opening my last set.

I think I must have missed it, but curious how we know there are 15k sets? Sorry, late to the discussion on that.

There were two major stocks of the hoops set and the first was ~8k and the second was ~7k. Page monitors picked up the counts.

Any thoughts on if/what kind of multiple you're looking at for a PSA 9 vs. raw in pulsars/colored pulsars given some of the chatter around the condition of the pulsar set cards generally?

If you think the colored pulsars are a short term investment, you don't see the value in these. People need to understand how rare they are and the market needs to dry up a bit before prices will go up, but even then, it'll be player dependent of course.

There will be very, very few sets of PS being opened within a month or so, if not by now. Fewer and fewer singles will hit the market and demand will increase. Naturally you'll have to sell at the right time as well.

These are most likely right about 50 made of each and I'd say it's fair to anticipate only 15-30 or so of each player will be available on the market in the first year or so. That's pretty limited and I anticipate the market to dictate as much.

I've been watching them pretty damn closely and the most sought after players have seen prices rise while all others have gone down. But again, as the market drives up, prices will increase when a player is hot. I do think rookies are where it's at with these.

That said I just bought 18 different vet color pulsar's last night at .99 a piece with combined shipping. I am highly confident I can 4-5x that with ease by simply relisting them as BIN/BO and waiting for people who want them bad enough.

Just my two cents but with these pulsar's it's all how you look at it and your timeframe. With sealed prices being sky high on 19-20 products it'll help single prices over time on anything that happens to be short-printed.

This right here.

Look no further than the fanatics silver waves blueprint to see where things are going. There was a sharp dip in singles prices in the beginning. Then a leveling off...and then slow uptick as the saturation of singles began to diminish.

Give it tiempo.

I agree with everything you said. I'm dumping the pulsars from the box set to fund colored pulsars. I'm only buying rookies. I haven't had to purchase many big named rookies though, since I've been lucky enough to pull them. Currently my collection is:
Ja Morant Black
RJ Barrett Black
Coby White Black
Tyler Herro Black
RJ Barrett Red
Zion Williamson Red
Darius Garland Red
Rui Hachimura Red
Deandre Hunter Red

Actually - I'm on the same thought train with you regarding the colored pulsars.

When I mentioned "singles prices for pulsars leveling off" - I was referring to the base set pulsars, not the colored ones.

Same strategy as you...I also been picking up singles of the colored cards. In early December when people started cracking these sets, it was easier to find deals on them but it's been drying up since. I'm still looking and this past week - I got 2 Jamal Murray (Red/Blue) for $11, Embiid Blue for $5, and a Green Tatum for $19. I got a red Coby White for $70 (most expensive one I purchased).

Outside of a Andrew Wiggins Gold Pulsar I sold for somebody's PC, I haven't sold any of mine that I pulled personally.

They are definitely more scarce then most people would assume, give it a year or two when people have had time to get their items graded and it'll really confirm how limited they are.

That's really fortunate. The market for colored rookies is starting to get crazy already. You have a ton of money on your hands let alone down the line.

That's awesome. Yeah I have quite a few I'm really excited about. I've been buying them up. A few color matches I'm super stoked on is Tatum and same as you Coby White red which I got for $49.99.

I also have the entire Curry rainbow outside of the gold now. I spent a lot to get there but I pack pulled the black and figured if I could get all of them it would be a great investment but the last Curry gold went for $250+ which was crazy.

I've been traveling and buying on eBay while I'm gone. Once I get home I'm going to assess what I have and see which ones I might go for the rainbow on.

I think it's a pretty easy flip to buy veteran singles at under $5 a pop, make the rainbow and sell it for a slight premium. It's work but it's easy money too.
