Alright, officially wrapping this up:

Final AL standings
1. Cornerstore
2. Eckstein197
3. Hollywood42
4. bn2cardz
5. jstasyk1121
6. Dbacksbaseball
7. 7jacfire
8. cardsharking
9. Ray27Ray52
10. SethMurphy
11. todderfield
12. Peties Army

Final NL standings
1. Eckstein197

7. Dbacksbaseball
8. jstasyk1121

12. Peties Army

Which makes our overall combined final standings:

1. Eckstein197 (3)
2. Cornerstore (6)
3. 7jacfire (9, 7,602 total points)
4. Hollywood42 (9, 7,570)

10. Ray27Ray52 (20, 6,349)
11. todderfield (20, 7,043)
12. Peties Army (24)

I'll leave that up for someone to verify I did it all right, if you want, but we basically knew the order of the top 4 heading into the week. If nothing is called out by this afternoon I will finalize the payouts in LeagueSafe which will be:

1st ($240) - Eckstein
2nd ($165) - Corner
3rd ($90) - Jac
4th ($65) - Hollywood
AL regular season best record ($20) - BN2 and Hollwood (each at 13-7, each will get $10)
NL regular season winner ($20) - Seth (15-5)

Free agent adds are now frozen for the offseason, but trades are fair game again. I'll get our draft orders posted in our sheet sometimes this week, too

I think we had a few things to discuss in the offseason and probably an owner to replace. No rush on that but we'll get to it eventually

Thanks, all for another really fun year!

Damn it, I didn't want to win the NL 3rd place game lol, I didn't make lineup changes all week, and still won.

Was trying to finish 4th to get that one better draft spot haha

Congrats to the winners

Nice to finish in 3rd due to the tiebreakers. Still don't understand how I always have one team that plays well and one that flat out sucks, hoping next year will be more balanced. Congrats to the others who finished in the money.

Just a little bit of housekeeping before it gets too deep in the offseason:

-Cardsharking PMed me that he's going to bow out of this league

-I think we need to replace Peties this year. He was completely MIA after like May this season, and he's disappeared in the 2nd half in years past as well

I think those are the only 2 replacements needed this year

Peties is working on trying to resurrect Gerard Butler's action career I believe.

I support replacing him

Starting to prep for prepping for the season- on the to-do list:

-Replacements for Cardsharking (bowing out) and Peties (ghosted team and pattern of doing so)
-FAAB/cross league trade waivers discussion

Anything else to pin to chat about in a few weeks?

Chittychitty844 will be taking over for Peties this year. Chitty has played in my Redrafters league and is super active, will be fun to have him in. WElcome!

Hi Everyone- looking to trade for some picks / players in AL and NL league. Everyone is on the table in both leagues. Look my teams over and see if anything is of interest. Thanks

Updated to-do list:

-Replacements for Cardsharking and Seth (bowing out)
-FAAB/cross league trade waivers discussion

One new thing that I've been thinking about - what if instead of replacing these 2 open teams, we contract down to 10 total teams?

This league has always been extremely shallow, and at some point in AL/NL only leagues, they're just going to be by nature of it. But I think it's been noticeably so here. This would particularly help depth at positions like C and RP that are extremely shallow. You can certainly make a case that handling that positional scarcity is part of the strategy, and I don't disagree with that, but at some point it takes away from the fun when people are forced to roster guys like (I don't know, just taking some guesses at tiers here with ESPN under maintenance) Curt Casali, Eric Haase, or Jose Urena. Contracting would also actively make the FA pool more worthwhile and should lead to more activity there. That's been one of the complaints about this format, that there are never many moves, and virtually no waiver claims

The first effect that comes to mind is thinking about what happens to all of the players on those 2 rosters - in this case with only 2 keepers per team and the majority of talent being available in the draft anyways, I don't think it's a big deal to just return all the impacted players to the draft pool

Just an idea. Posting up the intro for now and can give some more details on what this would look like once ESPN unlocks and allows for some better analysis of how it would change positional depth, FA pool quality, and so on

I would concur overall with this

If we are going to downsize, could we increase the keeper by 1?

Hey guys I’m more thrn happy to play(easily my favorite lesgue to draft in) but I feel like I let you guys down every august when I’m out of it.

If you want to vote me out totally get it. But if you need someone to complete the lesgue I can do it. I want to play but respect you guys moving on.

Glad you guys replaced me. Wish you would have done it two years ago when I quit and I was begged to comeback lol.

Good luck everyone

Leagues reactivated for 2023. I'll get dates announced within the next couple of days. We'll still have some time before we need to do any of that, but I will want to get us started on a couple of rule changes/discussions so we can hash that out with plenty of time, especially the potential contraction topic

I’d be fine moving down to 10, but agreed would like the ability to have 3 keepers then

2023 key dates:

Payments due: March 1
Keepers due: March 1
Draft begins: March 3
Opening day: March 30

We barely finished the drafts in time last year, and this year the season starts a week earlier, so that's the reasoning for the pretty early start

I will have LeagueSafe set up and shared by the end of the month

Other things we have to discuss:

-Contraction (would like to do this first so replacement owners can be in other discussions if we stay at 12), potential keeper change
-FAAB discussion

AL: I have some great keeper options... here is the round they are kept.

Triston McKenzie- round 6
Brandon Lowe- round 8
Adolis Garcia- round 11
George Kirby- round 15

Kirby will be toughest to acquire.

NL Tatis 2nd round (will need a strong offer)
Corbin Carroll and Jake McCarthy round 10 each

Like the moving down to 10 idea, would rather wait until next year to up the keeper limit to 3 but am fine with that changing this year as well.

As for my available players/keepers
AL available:
Gunnar Henderson (round 10)
Lance Lynn (round 13)

Keepers:
Yordan Alvarez (round 16)
Most likely Henderson if I don't move him

NL available:
Nolan Arenado (round 1)
Ketel Marte (round 8)
Dustin May (round 15)
CJ Abrams (round 15)
Tyler O'Neill (round 16)

Likely Keepers:
Brandon Nimmo (round 11)
Nick Lodolo (round 12)

Everyone not listed is also available. Looking for picks.

Yeah any changes to keeper counts would have to be applied for 2024 season to be fair to all
