Probably kind of like houses. More people could afford a house back then and now many are priced out. The market dictates but the regular folks get left behind.

Bars and restaurants pay more for the right to publicly show the product.

Your points are valid and that is what this summer's court case was about with the NFL Sunday Ticket. But the point stands that salaries go up as revenues go up, and those will go up so long as we members of the public keep spending. We fans, collectively, are why Dak just made a quarter billion.
