The real question is why you would convert a solid regular season starter and top prospect into an opener in the first place, especially given that there were no off days during the NLDS/NLCS and teams needed a five man rotation.

Is your bullpen so good that you would rather have relivers throwing more innings instead of May/Gonsolin?

No.

There is absolutely no explanation for it other than overthinking yourself into a problem.

Did it have to do with injuries? Wasn't he a starter, got hurt, and then came back at the end of the regular season only throwing a few innings?

Since when does sabermetrics say defense does not matter much???

Plenty of top players generate as much or more WAR on defense as offense.

He must have watched Moneyball on Netflix and saw when Brad Pitt said "HIS FIELDING DOES NOT MATTER".

Kenley already sounding like he's delivering a eulogy pre-game.

I’m happy that they were able to get through this wacky little season and even happier to see what I think are the two best teams battling it out for the crown.
Then we go dark for 3 months- boo.

Glasnow is so bad. It's incredible how consistently awful he has been all postseason.

No one stalks an MLB player like this without a personal story behind it.

1. Salty Pittsburgh Pirates fan?
2. Spent thousands on Glasnow rookie autos?
3. Glasnow stole his girl?

I guess it’s a good thing his GM and coach don’t agree

I'm guessing never. It's not just the Rays, though. Same against the Braves. This dodger team makes the opposing pitcher work very hard for outs. Deep counts are the norm.

Thanks coach!

Man, I thought Randy did it again.

Glasnow... eesh. He's got tons of talent. I keep thinking he is going to come out and pitch lights out, but continue to be disappointed.

Why send a guy with, average, at best speed, when the pitcher can't throw a strike? Just gift the Rays an out?

Kershaw got a good three inches on that called third strike.

Depends on if Cash gives up on this one to save his bullpen.
