I guess time will tell but so far I'm pretty happy with only collecting one player. Of course it's nice living in Houston and being able to go to the games.

True story:

Back in February, I asked my friend (co-Ginter Code champ who writes for The Dynasty Guru) for advice on a FBB team I was taking over. All he said was: "Do whatever you have to do to get Yordan Alvarez. He's the next David Ortiz." I looked at his numbers ... "Are you sure?" ...... "YES. GET HIM."

Now I only wish my wallet had listened as well.

I wish I bought him a little earlier but I can't complain. One package today had 109 cards of his - pretty much all chrome. I do wish I bought more Chrome autos though. Bought the Early Indications autos /25,/50 and /100 yesterday. Saved me big not waiting one more day.

I’m sitting on a 2018 gold auto, 2 green autos, green shimmer auto, Refractor auto and 2 base autos. Pains me I sold the orange shimmer auto

These things are getting picked up like crazy. Every single Chrome auto under $500 is gone and a ton of high end ones sold tonight as well.

Honest question. Is this guy ever going to be capable of playing in the field? Hard to see these values sustaining if he’s a career DH even with the crazy numbers. If the Astros reach the WS he’s not even going to be playing in the NL games unless he’s pinch hitting.

You’re absolutely right. In truth, he’s a first baseman. Problem is, there’s no where to put him. 3B-Bregman SS-Correa. 2B-Altuve. 1B-Gurriel. Who sits?

He can play OF, he’s just not going to compare to Springer-Marisnick-Brantley-Reddick. He’s fouled a couple balls off his leg, so they’ve been careful with putting him in the field right now. Come the WS (knock on wood) he’ll find a spot in LF if he’s continuing to rake like this.

It still remains to be seen if he can learn 1st. I think they've mentioned the efforts to learn it thus far have not been successful enough to warrant game action.

Even more interesting is that his AAA and MLB numbers are almost the exact same. No drop off in production.

He's putting up Ruthian numbers and has sustained it for the entire year (albeit minor league). Very impressive. I wish he was like Juan Soto who is trying to learn English ASAP to become more popular in his interactions with the media/fans. Could be a great bump for us investors.
