I think effectively “doubling” the flu without expanding hospital capabilities would be a foolish decision.

My only question is—given that those who recover gain immunity and given that it is incredibly mild for children and young people—wouldn’t it’s continued presence be essentially a nuisance provided everyone contracted it while young and then recovered?

The reason Trump is saying he wants to "open the economy up" so soon is so that when the recession hits (betting odds are -775 for one) he can shift the blame to the governors, since they are the ones with the ability to end the lockdowns. "Hey, I wanted to open the economy up a long time ago but your governor won't do it!"

When is it time to stick all House members and all Senate members (with each one in a hazmat suit) in one locked room with one portajohn and no one allowed to leave until a deal is done?

No one leaves, even the House, until everything is hammered out and agreed upon.

Logic and Perspective

The largest death toll in a single day from CV is around 800 with Italy.

Yes we are tracking for some big death days but perspective is important.

The Corona Virus has killed about 22,000 people worldwide since January. Almost 3 full months.

For fairness lets say we the world runs wild, and we get 10 times that in the next 3 months. 220,000 deaths. WORLDWIDE in 6 months, and lets be insane here and say half of those are in the US.

110,000 deaths in the US.

US population--327 Million
Average deaths per day in the US Approx 8,000. Over 60 days= 1.4 Million.
Now the amount of people out of work living check to check 20 MILLION+ easy.

You don't have to be a Republican or Democrat to be logical. And logic says, the math simply doesn't add up. Is it sad? Incredibly. Will these families with loved ones who pass feel loss? Of Course. Lets not be numb to that. But lets not put our future, and the next generations future in chaos, poverty and depression over something that could easily max out around 12-15k deaths. Reminder....we have 8k deaths per day in the US.

Wake up. The Solution, can't be worse than the problem.
