Enjoyed reading thru this thread and pleasantly surprised there doesn't seem to be anyone here on the verge of a breakdown and everything seemed to be very civil. Compared to going back thru the 2016 Politics thread, that is a huge upgrade!

I can't honestly say I cared much who ultimately won the presidency, but agree with the sentiment that a split Congress and a Biden presidency is perfectly fine. Hopefully both parties can put out some good candidates in 2024 and we can get back to having "boring" politics without all the theatre.

Congrats to everyone if your guy won; hopefully he turns out to be what you hoped for and the country can take a bit of a chill pill for a few years

I could see those checks coming more frequently as long as the GOP in the Senate get something in return, small as it may be.

On one hand I wanted a triple play but if the GOP keep the Senate and Biden wins the Presidency, I could see Mitch and Joe working together. They know they need each other to work things out. Keep Pelosi out of the discussion. Or better yet, replace Pelosi altogether as Speaker of the House.
Let's hope not, there are jobs out there. Can't find one, move to PA where there are tens of thousands of unfilled warehouse jobs. Stop paying people to stay home.

Two different sides won...or should I say lost.

Well had the GOP led state congress not blocked attempts to start counting the mail in ballots weeks ago (like in Florida), then these numbers would have all been known last night and there wouldn't be any concern (not that I think there are actually shady things happening anyways).

Any uncertainty lies at the GOP's feet, which of course was their goal to help with any court cases, but they can only blame themselves.

Thought Trump would win the electoral vote while Biden wins the popular vote coming into yesterday AM.
Around 7/8pm poll results were compiling and I thought Trump wins electoral... Go to bed. Wake up and it's Biden winning/won. Weird how it works

I do find it odd that CNN still hasn't called Arizona for Trump but Fox News did it basically by midnight last night.

They even just said Nevada could be called shortly, also odd seeing as it's less than an 8,000 vote difference right now with 10 more days for ballots to show up.

Whoever he nominates likely drank in high school and sexually assaulted someone if we use Cory Booker and the others' logic so it's tough to find anyone eligible

10K people in Nevada picked "none of the above" on the presidential ballot

If the GOP tried to keep a seat open for more than a year (assuming it doesn't happen again during the 2024 cycle) then it would likely be the end of the GOP as they know it.

That would be political suicide to do that I think, especially without someone like Trump at the top of the ticket who's base can make up for a lot of other faults.

What is up with this 120k mystery votes story? I cant find it anywhere on any conservative media sites. You'd think they'd be running SOMETHING if it was legit. Even Breitbart is empty.

Because it's not a thing

Michigan had a huge mail in turnout and wasn't allowed to even start processing until yesterday, this was always expected.

Novice politics follower here.

Why wouldn't Biden's nominee not get a hearing? Simple terms please.

The narrative being pushed though is that not one single vote was for Trump.

The Senate is who ultimately confirms a Supreme Court Justice. In this case, it will be a GOP led Senate - who might just stonewall everything Biden tries to do.

Of course it is. How can they 'steal the election' without some unsubstantiated story about massive fraud?

Right. But I was more just asking if anyone had any source to substantiate these claims or if it was just twitterverse garbage.
