I've visited 3 sports card shops while at spring training in Arizona. All 3 were packed with people. Never seen so many people crammed into dmall storefront card shops before.

What shops did you visit? And are you still in town? One of AZ's bigger card shows of the year is this weekend.

Oh give him a break. He's kind of like the former President, you just feel bad for him at this point.

Surprisingly, quite a few. I even found a card with a ton of sentimental value that needs to come back to Ohio with me. Not a Reds card, but I grew up in the same small town as Haddix. My brother was friends with his grandson and spent time at his house. He died when I was a teenager, so there aren't a ton of these out there. The 1960 card is special as it was the first card after his legendary 12 perfect innings, and talk about it on the back of the card.

We went to Valleywide Sports Cards near Scottsdale, and Westgate Cards and Collectibles and AZ Sports Cards over near Glendale.

We are flying out Saturday morning, so if the show starts Friday, we will definitely go. Do you have a link to the show info?

The guy who owns AZ Sports Cards is cool. I buy most of my wax from him since he gives me a veteran's discount and sometimes an additional discount on top of that. I'm hoping he gets a few cases of Heritage High Number next week.

I see somebody posted a link for the card show. I usually go on Saturday, but I've been meaning to try to get down there for the Friday trade night one of these days.

Just got back from the Card Show in Phoenix. Really nice show. Large venue. Although I prefer shows away from downtown, the convention center was easy to get to, and right by the stadiums. A Suns game was going on tonight and the area was active.

The show had some of the widest aisles I've seen, so maneuvering was comfortable. Good mix of vintage and modern. Prices were about what I expect from a show. One thing I noticed is that there was way more non-sport there than any show I've been to. That said, it was a "card show" not billed as just a sports card show, and it is very easy to just walk past tables I don't want to see. So no big deal there. It's just I don't see that much non-sport at shows in the midwest, so it stood out.

Here are some pictures:

I didn't pick up much, but did grab some lower end Larkins I was missing, and a 1966 Topps Venezuelan Frank Robinson with great eye appeal. It has a little paper loss on the back, as is expected with Vennies, but looks super sharp on the front.

Yep, saw some big time cards of both. They were flying off the shelves. They outsell tobacco cards all day long.

Those were empty cases people were filling with purchases. Don't go twisting the plot.

I went to the Phoenix show today, it was very busy. Probably the busiest I've seen it since Spring of '21, although I went in the late afternoon today rather than 11 or so. Most dealers had "buying" signs up at their tables. I was looking to see if I could find any deals on '24 wax. Went straight to the guy I went to six months ago and everything was priced maybe 25% higher.

The Pokemon crowd was out in force. I have no idea how much that stuff costs, but I saw a lot of people walking out of there carrying boxes of Pokemon stacked four or five high.
