I would hope... but wouldn't they advertise that if so? Like, why would it benefit them not to disclose all?

On another hand, If they don't advertise more and then "come through" with more for those who purchase... will they not from then on HAVE TO include more than stated on future releases? Could be a cycle of regret.

Pretty sad when people are buying because the price is so off they think there must be more to it. Ever heard of Occam's Razor?

I am 100% with you. I received the vague email today saying that they discovered an issue with their email yesterday (I use hotmail) - and I responded asking 1) could they re-send the original email, 2) could they provide more detail on when the first product would be sent, and 3) what was the total number of Brooklyn sets produced. I also expressed my concern that there really wasn't much to go on (two hyperlinks) to convince me to drop $1000 in the next 24 hours. This was his response:

"Please see the attached link to have a better understanding of the product: https://www.topps.com/thebrooklyncollection

The Gift with Membership set should be arriving to you in the coming weeks.

The Brooklyn Collection is 5 on-card autos per set. I am not able to provide the amount of sets that were made."

So he ignored my request for the original email to be re-sent, offered that the gift would be arriving in weeks, regurgitated the same blah product link, and dodged the question on the number of sets. Keep in mind, too, that neither the first email nor this one even had a whiff of an apology.

None of this is surprising, mind you, but I am of the opinion that this set (and the membership) is likely doomed. Granted I have spent $200 on other things and have received far less. At least I have a couple of emails.

When has that ever happened though? I see this hope every time with an on-demand product and have yet to see it actually occur.

The closest I can recall was when some higher numbered tiers were removed from one of the Now auto offerings, but I can't say that resulted in some unexpected boost in value.

My advice is to take them at their word--nothing more, nothing less.

After reading everything I believe what you receive is a complete set of design one, a complete set of design two, and within those two sets five autographed cards. Now whether the five autograph cards plus the two sets are worth $1000 is for each of us to decide. I’m still on the fence myself but I believe that’s what will be received.

I think that would make a lot of people’s decision easier but I’m pretty sure it’s 5 autographs for the $1000 and that’s it. I could be wrong but I don’t think I am.

I keep getting emails to reserve even though I already have. I have no plans to reserve a second set, but is that possible?

Good lord... what is the story behind this picture (no pun intended).

Sorry, but what possibly could make you believe that? They just sent out another email, which says:

Product Description: Five on card autographs...

That's it! There is nothing about anything more. Nor has their been anything written about base sets, other than wishful postings in the thread.

I believe you misread something or are reading people's comments regarding what they wish for and not what Topps is offering. EVERYTHING from Topps explicitly states that you are only buying 5 autographed cards for $1000. It even says the "base" autographs are numbered to 25 and then the parallels are numbered to less. Not sure how you can interpret anything from Topps to indicate that they will be shipping an entire base set of these cards.

I honestly don't understand who's buying 5 Auto's for 1K.

Hard Pass for me. But I'll take my other goodies for $200 thank you...

As others have stated, Topps will have to earn my trust if they want me to fork out a grand for 5 cards!

I'm a numbers guy, so I took the time to do this. Below is the checklist for the 50 card set. I know the 55 card set has a few different players, but this should be good enough. I looked up SOLD prices for each of these players either numbered to 5 or 10 (I did a couple out of 25 if I couldn't find good examples) and almost all of these are ON CARD as well. I would assume that anything numbered /10, /5, or /1 most people would be thrilled about. /15 or /25 or considered the "worst" for this product. I'm also ONLY including sales from regular collected and known sets and ONLY from Topps (no Panini, Upper Deck, etc.)

There are a few surprises on the list like Andrew McCutchen and Yadier Molina selling pretty well. I didn't include Topps Chrome, Heritage, and Bowman because those are the most collected. I really see this product on the level of Diamond Icons, Luminaries, etc.

That probably was a big waste of time, but I thought it would be good to see close values of each player on the list.

I look at it like a discount store knock-off of Dynasty. Same amount of similar cards for a slightly discounted price. However in this one you don't get the awesome patches, or chance for a cool cut auto.

If you want a high-end gamble, pony up the little bit extra and get a case of much better cards in Dynasty.

When I first heard about this concept I was excited but I was on the fence about joining. I finally made up my mind to pay $200 but it sold out as I was about to do it. So thankful at this point! The mock ups look really poor to me. Sometimes there’s a reason a design gets scrapped.

Thanks for doing that. Helps me feel confident in my "hell no" decision.
