SoFi tech platform landed a fairly big fish, winning part of the US Treasury Direct Express program.

Came so close. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this hit $200k in short order. ETFs have provided a massive backstop the past year. More confidence in the bottom not falling out, the higher this can go.

I think I might pick up a little ESTA (Establishment Labs). I was reading an article that mentioned their recently FDA approved Motiva breast implants were popular. I tend to be a bit too tech heavy in my portfolio so I thought this would be a nice oddball one for me to pick up. Premarket it is at about $46.50 a share.

PSQH - this has to be algos or hype buyers. like don jr was involved in mentioning the SPAC for this in 2023. just type "don jr" in EDGAR. an overpriced religious website. not gonna be like SEZL's secret subprime mystery success.

I bought XOMA. they own royalties on biotech drugs. some good ones like ZVRA and DAWN. not too many shares out.

I bought SSSS. they invest in private cos like OpenAI, Coreweave etc. just gonna see where this goes.

SBBCF - makes Trubar. has solid revenue growth. have you guys heard of it?

Took a decent position in URA a few months ago that's paid off nicely. Still think theres lots of room to run in Uranium. I think in the next decade we'll make a major move toward nucleur power.

URA saint for making this stock tip. I probably wont buy but I couldn’t resist the low-hanging pun.

Seriously though, it probably is inevitable that nuclear becomes popular again. I was listening to a Bloomberg podcast a few months ago mentioning a couple Japanese companies.

Bitcoin 100k.

This is going to be a big month for equities. We’re nowhere near FOMO buying yet. I think 6200 is the highest year-end target I’ve seen. I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re at 6400 going into 2025.

What a year this is finishing up as. My two active accounts are up 59% and 75%. Even my cash account that I have some small positions in is matching the S&P return. Some tough decisions to make to start 2025.

maybe this is dum, but I kind of like SLRN for TED. no more nonsensical trials cause they all blew up. will probably trade under cash tomorrow.

CLRB is essentially left for dead now. don't you think they get sold to someone who can finish this trial? this is a radiopharmaceutical co. doing stuff for WM.

these are some high risk ideas:
SIDU - will have a satellite launched on SpaceX

https://investors.sidusspace.com/new...ady-for-launch

Bandwagon-2 mission December 29, 2024. should get some hype cause the same thing happened last time they launched as shown on the stock chart.

it went from 4 to 9 I believe.

https://investors.sidusspace.com/new...capsulated-and

got hyped before launch, they issued stock, killed momentum.

LUCY - this doesn't matter til March of next year for the reebok eyeglasses.

expected launch March 2025
https://www.prnewswire.com/news-rele...302274656.html

got a heavy boost on the protective eyewear release as seen in the stock chart.
it depends on how much this Vladimir guy owns of the float by the time of the reebok release. they should get someone cool like Anthony Edwards or Justin Jefferson to promote it.

Speaking of the stars. VERY EXCITING news

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/googl...170103666.html

https://techcrunch.com/2024/12/10/go...iverses-exist/

So
1) Google to the moon?
2) other quantum chip manufacturers (think there are two), also to the moon?
3) There's a good chance we might send probes to Alpha Centauri via StarShot in our lifetimes which is insanely fascinating, so space industry to the moon, or other solar systems?
4) If we can crack blockchain security using quantum computing, bearish on crypto?

Either way, can't wait to traverse space and soak up all the galactic radiation before I die

Google is my second largest position and I have no clue what any of this means.

Guess I like it because it makes the stock go up?

If you go down the quantum physics + computing rabbit hole, it will take weeks to reappear to society

Well Google's PR campaign is working.

To be clear. They have not made any technological breakthrough. This is an extension of what has already been done. It is nowhere close to being useful for anything. There is no practical use case for quantum and won't be until someone figures out error correction.

To the crypto point, this is from someone who worked on willow directly. I wouldn't be worried

This was important for Google simply because the media narrative is that they are far behind everyone on Quantum and AI (the 2 biggest buzzwords today).

So they put out a PR piece and a bunch of journalists who don't know quantum from a hole in the ground write hype pieces on how this will change the world blah blah blah.

The whole thing about it solving some problem in 5 minutes that would take a classical computer a zillion years is laughable because it was designed that way and didn't actually solve any problem with a level of EC that's needed for practical use. It's like when that company Nikola said they had a fully functional electric truck but it was just plugged into a wall behind the curtain and they pushed it down a hill.

This is probably the best summary I've watched of what they just came out with. Quantum computing IS still probably a decade away from practical/retail application, but this is a major milestone achievement.

TSLA hitting 477 pre-market.

Here’s my current breakdown of my positions across all tradable accounts. Every dollar I have access to freely trade with, so only excludes work retirement accounts.

TSLA 30%
NVDA 21%
FBTC 7%
Cash 42%

Need to move more cash to FBTC, but otherwise happy where everything stands.

Yes. Fed is irrelevant. That’s the 2022-2023 narrative.

What App would you guys recommend for somebody that wanted to do some personal investing? I have several accounts managed by other people, but I want something that I can be more hands on with on a daily basis.

My advice to you is to not be hands on, on a daily basis unless you’re going to seriously dedicate some time to understanding what you are doing.

Otherwise you’re just pulling a lever on a slot machine, placing trades you saw from other people. That’ll inevitably lead to you losing your money

If you want to build yourself a portfolio and start managing your money over the long term, I would suggest starting with some books to understand what that even means. I think the most common book for beginners would be Peter Lynch’s One up on Wall St.

Stay away from the gamified apps like webull and robinhood. Their job is to get you to gamble, not invest.

There are better places for traders but for simple money management Fidelity has the best platform IMO
