Montas is wildly unimpressive.

What’s really crappy is they had a guy already on their staff better than Montas unfortunately his 3-0 record since the trade now resides with the Cardinals.

Yep Montgomery probably has a better chance of getting a ring in St. Louis, Montas never had to pitch under a microscope nobody cared what he did in Oakland. Very seldom does a pitcher in a small market area come to a big market area and do better.

3 innings, 16 batters. And not a single swing and miss on his fastball.

You keep coming up with counterpoints I am not going to get petty and make a list but maybe other organizations know how to make better use of someone like Montgomery.

How can you not love Judge ... the guy just looks like the nicest person you'd ever want to meet ... next to Vladdy of course

Judge seems to be taking a lot of pitches now instead of jumping on pitchers' mistakes when he was hot. He got himself into a 2-0 count and watched a fastball right down the middle and then watched a 3-1 hanging curve over the middle of the plate.

Yep he has gotten so used to teams pitching around him that now they are getting away with pitching to him.

They're not counterpoints really, just a less cynical way of looking at it. But I realize that's out of place here. Win or fire eveyone. Every year. Except Judge. Got it. Sent from my SM-G981U using Tapatalk |

Feels like that Mets team in the 2000s that collapsed to end the season.
A shame that such a stellar season is just falling apart. Hard to think Cashman keeps his job if NYY keep at this pace and miss the playoffs.

The only reason people thought the Montas move me included wasn’t a bad move was because they also got Effross and Trivino and I couldn’t even tell you one of the players the Yankees gave up for them. That tells me the A’s knew that Montas was not that good if they also threw in 2 more relievers. Benintendi is actually the move I liked most of the three they made. But to give up a serviceable Montgomery for an outfielder who will not be able to help till mid September made no sense and I think that was the move that brought the team morale down. Before that Montgomery trade I would’ve given Cashman a B plus on the other moves but that one move with Montgomery made his deadline moves a C minus. We both root for the same team but much like marriage we don’t have to agree about everything. I appreciate the give and take but I think right now a lot of us Yankees fans are more cranky than we need to be, but that’s to be expected when the great season of 61-23 we were witnessing turned into 73-46 which was totally unexpected. We expected a dip but not going 10 games under .500 for this amount of time.

He's surprised every time he gets a strike. But he can't carry the team all year. He's the least of their problems.
