He's got the talent. His pitch recognition is as bad as I've seen though. I think he makes up his mind before the pitch is thrown, if he is going to swing or not

He's getting more fastballs with higher velocity and more sinkers with higher velocity.

His launch angle has decreased drastically and he's getting more ground balls, less line drives.

if he increases his launch angle he'd be better for it.

No. You cannot. Let's say, he figures it out late this season, then hits roughly .285 with 180 hits/30 HRs/90 RBI/30 SBs during his age 25 (2026) and 26 (2027) seasons he'll be well on his way to a likely HOF career.

Will it happen? Nobody knows.

I really don't understand how this list has convinced you that 900 hits by age 26 is somehow a HOF 'pace'. The list you used has numbers ranging from 1,600 to 0, so the only way to take that is that there's more than one way to get there.

Do you have a list of guys who had 800-900 hits by that age and didn't make the HOF? I'm guessing that's a much longer list.

All of this while, in a career full of slow starts, he's off to his slowest yet.

If this isn't the most If my aunt had balls, she would be my uncle arguments ever. You could say that about almost any player. He has shown zero evidence that he is even remotely figuring it out, in fact he continues to trend in the wrong direction. A three year sample size is significant.

Here is the list of all-time hits leaders through age 26 season:

1. Ty Cobb 1600
2. Mel Ott 1440
3. Al Kaline 1390
4. Vada Pinson 1381
5. Robin Yount 1363
6. Alex Rodriguez 1354
7. Freddie Lindstrom 1347
8. Rogers Hornsby 1323
9. Henry Aaron 1309
10. Jimmie Foxx 1307

Only half these guys got to 3,000, so I don't think being at 900 is any sort of indicator.

Completely agree!!! This would be best case scenario going forward. I really don't know how to pick em.

Nobody expected Jram to be good so I wouldn't say that is a fair comparison

I'd say the hobby cares way more about him than most players.

I think it is difficult sometimes to separate a players apparent character from their actual performance-
i say presumed character because we really do not know, however he seems like a very great ambassador for the game of baseball. I find myself wanting to root for him. Tony Gwynn one of the greatest hitters of all time was also a great ambassador for the sport. The difference is he was great hitter. Julio is still figuring it out -His numbers last year at the end of the season were good for many players but not for Julio Rodriguez. This year it looks very similar to last -i am rooting for him to figure it out because i believe we need people like that in baseball

He's hobby good enough for me When he "stinks" his cards become affordable, and when he plays and does a hint of decent it goes back up a bit. Plus his autos and low number cards are already market flooded like most everyone else. From a hobby standpoint, he is fun to collect as you can find good deals AND you can rake it in depending on his performance in "real time". From a PC standpoint, I collect a hometown Mariner like I have been back when Felix started and our humble Griffey/Ichiro/Edgar guys. That seems hobby good, at least not hobby bad even if not hobby great.

BC Rookie gold auto PSA10 recently sold for over $2000 (I was out at $1000) and this is after the previous week selling at over $3000 (I’ll assume that payment didn’t clear). So it’s not just bag holders chief.

hopium?
or are there underlying factors that point to some pending breakout?
good Julio is electric just wondering if people expect it will come soon or is this more people adding to their bag to keep prices up in a respectable range for optics?
ya never know
