Based on past years, I would expect Devers, Yordan, and Judge to be the top three gainers in my Index at this point in the year. All of them I would expect to be north of 2x compared to November. Instead they are in the 50-60% up range. That is purely a function of the lousy market. Devers is gaining ground on a lot of players right now.

Can't recall if you include everyone in your index or just a subset of players, but Luis Arraez will be up more (off an admittedly small base).

Wow - Arraez is waaaay up like 300% from spring. I guess I should have kept buying last year.

Kicking myself for not picking up a Heritage Red Ink before the season. At least the rest of my Devers are doing well. Maybe I can luck into trading for one.

Same! Hoping to trade for a red ink at a show soon. Have the blue in a PSA 10. My Devers collection has gone way up lately. They just need to pay him and get it done, his defense (which was the reasoning for not backing up the $$$ truck) has been way better this year.

Haha! At this point we are mostly not competitive for anything. So clearly not driving the market for any player.

We are outpriced on all the core guys we actively collect (although haven't really bought anything in a year other than Devers):
-- Devers
-- JoRam
-- Arraez
-- Acuna

For Wander we are sitting on our hands as the '22 RC Shield variations were always too expensive, and waiting for the "investors" to exit (already down 60-75% on most things I track! I want it down at least 50% more). And we have plenty of his '21 BB50... which I'm hoping comes down in price, but has remained too stable for us to keep adding there.

And don't need more of: Dougie

I feel you on Wander. I was planning on at least getting a #/2022 gold, but even those just feel so overpriced at the moment.

More: we bought waaaaay too many because they are/were cheap. My son is still a big Dougie fan

Loved seeing him finally knock out a HR yesterday, after so many near misses. He has been most impacted by the dead ball, I think, on the team.

Totally agree. Verdugo can spray it all over the field, but he's had a ton of fly balls on the warning track this year. He's a fun player though (as a Red Sox fan)

Some crazy Devers stats of the season:
-- He is batting no lower than .303 on any count (1-2 count... .309 on 0-2 count)
-- He has a higher batting average when shifted on (.364) than when not (.333)
-- He has a chance at generating as much oWAR in 1/2 this season as he did in his entire 2019 season, when we put up 6.7 WAR... and is just about to pass his 2021 oWAR total

I track 67 players this year. Mostly higher priced guys and a few personal favorites.

Lower priced guys definitely get bigger multiples. I'd expect that Taylor Ward is actually the biggest % gain. Probably has gone from $2 to $40 or something.

Arraez is not on the list. I'm glad to see him skyrocketing though. If he's 4x from spring, he's probably 5x from November. Goes to show that batting average by itself can drive prices if it's high enough. Not that I didn't learn that lesson with Tony Gwynn and Wade Boggs. Now, if I could just get somebody to go 40/40 but with a low BA and not many RBI....
