In all fairness, there were always those incompetent boobs who looked up in Beckett for .10 commons! IMO collectors should know what they want and what they want to pay. Flippers have to see "worth" no longer value

My biggest pet peeve at a card show is asking a dealer what the price of a card is and they have to look at their phone for the latest comps. Unless it's a card I really want I just walk away.

Card prices can change drastically from one month to the next. Or even from one day to the next day.

Bad take.

Guys that dont want recent comps want to get steals and deals. Maybe catch the dealer slipping so they sell you a $200 card for $20.

Card ladder is terrible for vintage hockey, which is what I mainly collect. They have hardly any cards in their database. I just use the PSA site and ebay.

They now have a sales history search for anything you look up. It contains sales from all of the major platforms. Doesn’t matter if the card is in CL.

The great thing is, when I went to my first big show, Dallas, I pre priced all of my cards and put a sticker on the back. I also put the price I was willing to sell it for. It helped the dealers I made deals with. Yes some still looked up comps, but I stuck to my prices for the most part. I have 20 cards to sell. I came home with 9 and left the show with pure profit, becasue my consignments had already paid for my cards. I sold the other 9 when I got home to a dealer looking for inventory.

For anyone who's interested, here's what I sent into Josh for his first $100 Regular Service submission as part of the re-opening. I don't care what anyone else thinks I was willing to pay this price per card for the estimated turn around time frame with these cards. Obviously I'm a Shaq PC guy, and I'm currently working on getting ever year's release of Topps Chrome Refractors slabbed. Some I have already and this really fills in some of the holes for completion. The Jordan I threw in just for fun because I already have a Kobe and Shaq of that set slabbed, needed this one to finish that out and it looks really good, would love to see it gem but who knows.
