I really enjoyed reading through the entire thread. It was cool to see so many people find joy in such a simple idea. Well done, ya'll.

Just for purposes of keeping tabs, the box has safely arrived with me. My son and I likely won't have time to go through it all until this weekend, but if anyone would like to be next with it when it goes out early next week please let me know (preferably by posting in thread so everyone knows when it is claimed).

I don't think you get the point of this. Please don't send the box to this person.

I have tons of stuff worth $3-5 each i would love to share/give, mostly from topps/bowman brands from the years previously stated. Lots of numbered parallels both paper and chrome i have no interest in listing.
Many now obscure prospects and older star refractors folks on here might want to add to team or player PC's |

Since the masked man has spoken and he is the genesis and original benefactor of this brilliant scheme, I'll send it on to WizardofOz1982 next. Please DM me an address (no hurry - as I said won't go until Tuesday next week) and also let me know if your son has a favorite team and/or favorite players so my son and I can see if we can have some stuff to add that may appeal.

I'd be into this also if at all possible. Long time collector of many things including cards, comics, action figures and random items. Would be cool to go through a random box with my 12 year old and have her see if she likes anything and maybe put some of her own items in that she's collected over the years. Like I said in the last post, reminds me of Geocaching where we go looking for a random container somewhere by coordinates and then take any items we are interested in and leave our own items in return.

I broke multiple cases of many topps/bowman products during those years (08-12) and kept much of what i busted, now alot of that stuff is somewhat obscure Tons of low numbered cards of stars, semi-stars and randoms many here might want for team or player PC, i have boxes full of numbered refractors and low value auto/gu from this time period I literally only PC Adalberto Mondesi and early nineties Marvel, Vintage Oddball TV and Movie Cards, so i am in this for the giving aspect, not the taking I can show you some pics of what i would like to donate if need be |

Box is on its way to WizardofOz1982. Great time going through it with my son. Crazy work week, but will post more fully including pictures at the weekend.

OK - chance to report on the great time my son and I had going through the box
The best thing about the box for me is finding oddball, quirky stuff that I don't own examples of. Cases in point here included the Leaf popup, the Cause and Effect insert, and most of all the PowerDeck CD-ROM. The PowerDeck amused me as I was able to baffle my son about what is was, which gave me a happy flight of fancy about one day having a grandkid who would be even more baffled by it. The Rally Goose card spoke to me because of a running family joke about me being a wild goose. Otherwise, most of what I took were cards I liked for my Hall of the Very Good collection: ![]() Since I don't own an original 70s Topps poster, I was excited to get this to be a matching pair with the Khris Davis I got in a Heritage break a couple of years ago: ![]() My son had a field day with things that are shiny, stars, relics, and sets he likes (the 35 years Topps inserts, Fire, Pink Chrome Refractors, shiny things more generally, etc). And he was super-excited to get his second Wander Franco card. The Giolito "Big Foot" variation was also perfect, as that is out codeword to the kids to mind their table manners when eating out so we can nudge them without making a big deal of it. Since he'd taken to Ka'ai Tom when he was very briefly with the As earlier in the year, the IP auto appealed to him. ![]() ![]() As with when we got the box last year, I got him to practice his win-wins by putting roughly equivalent value of things other people might want back in the box. It's a terrific way to train good habits as he got a real kick out of seeing photos where people had taken cards he'd contributed. It had an unexpected twist this time in that we ran across a soccer card he'd plucked out of the free bin at our LCS 3 years ago when he was still working out what he wanted to connect. Seeing it was a colored World Cup Prizm of a world-class player (Thomas Muller) and knowing vaguely that soccer cards have gone through the roof in the last couple of years I looked it up and discovered that the free bin card was now probably somewhere in the $50-75 range, so that was exciting for him. In any event, he really got into the contributing side this time which was great to see. The box is now on its way to WizardofOz1982, with a good slug of new things that will hopefully appeal to people as it goes (including a few things we hope will speak to WizardofOz1982 and his son). A huge thank you to everyone that has kept this great thing going - particularly mmbtvs (for all the obvious reasons) and dashcol (who I strongly suspect at times has done more than he has let on to keep this going strong).

Glad your son and you enjoyed going through the box! It took me almost 20 years but I finally got my oldest to start collecting cards, he does not enjoy sports (except e-sports), so he is now collecting Pokémon, but hey it’s something! It is awesome your younger kids will collect with you!
Those 1970 posters are awesome and I believe at one point there was a near complete set in there as well. I am so glad one lasted long enough to make it to you. Great find on the soccer card as well. Overall seems like the box is still kicking and still has some quality stuff in there. Always nice to see something you added taken out of the box! My favorite has to be that Jackie P2020 card, I’ve had a couple of the Trout P2020 cards and didn’t care for them so I let them go, but I really like the Jackie.

Fun fact, I believe that at some point when the next person has the box we will be at officially one year with this box. That is amazing and I thank everyone for their participation. This is by far the most effective that one of these has been and I liken that to all the families participating, and the great mindset of everyone that giving is better than getting. Here's to it continuing for another year.

The box is safely at my house but we've been at the ballfield basically since it arrived. My son and I will try to go through it this evening or tomorrow evening. I'd like to get it on to the next person in line by this weekend.
Who is next in line?
