Unfortunately it was around the time every one was getting out of cards and into other (stupid) things like girls and fashion.

The Inside Info cards are awesome, I like every single one of them. Great colors, great design and really cool photos, whether unique or action packed, 10/10 cards.

I got in some cheap stuff recently, here's a couple of them. This Collector's Choice I only had one copy of and I put that into the set, so recently landed this one for the player collection. Also I thought I had this Metal card, but apparently I didn't, so I took care of that.

I got some other stuff in too, will post those later.

Yea the Mystery Ref has really great coloring too, not a shred of greening. Of course, at the very moment that observation is made, the cards immediately begin the hulking process. At least I captured him in Banner form.
Getting the Inside Info reminded me how tough the Gold versions were - 1:720. Nuts. 17 players in the set too. Can someone post a nice example shot of a Gold? Tough to capture the difference in many scans and even photos.

I'm shocked you didn't have the Metal Shredders already, that was one of the more wild subsets of the time, even the backs were nicely done.

Here's some more poverty Penny courtesy of sek122482. He picked up 96-97 and 97-98 TSC Members Only sets back in October and thankfully had these Pennies leftover for sale. He threw in the Horace as a gift because you just can't not complete the "Fusion."

Heh, you know what's funny...well, not funny, but sad. Some of my cards which had superb colors, unaffected by Chrome Rot, have slightly changed colors. Thing is, I keep the cards stored at room temperature in a zero moisture environment. so..........wtf man?

I know I'm on repeat, but I love the Inside Info set so much, it's perfection all around and the rounded corners are reminiscent of those 1997 UD Game Jersey cards. You'll notice they're more rounded on one side than the other, which is cool too. As for your request on a nice shot of an Inside Info Gold...I can't help you there, but I can post a shtty scan!

See, love this photo here. On the side, I think he wore that same cap in an interview he did while in Germany. You've got a total of FOUR photographs used on this card. MAN...why'd you have to post the Penny? Now I want to get more of these cards...THANKS A LOT, PAL.

The Metal Shredders...yeah, I was surprised too. I searched and searched just knowing I had the card and it was nowhere to be found. The photo on the Collector's Choice however, had me going back to look over the whole set...some of the best design and photography ever. Pisses me off they did not do any parallels this year, but we did get the Mini Folz...I'm still missing the Kemp and every time I see that one, someone wants like 25 dollars or MORE for it...wtf? No thanks. If you ever find one for a few bucks, let a brother know.

I also got the final Members Only card I needed of Kemp for that year from SEK, pretty cool that you got those Penny cards from the same haul. Just LOOK at that foil etching!!!

The base versions can be really tough to find. I got the Top Crop earlier this year with help from a good friend of mine and I was souped like chicken to get that one in.

Another card I got in somewhat recently, I know, you're all blown away by its majesty. I'll post more stuff later, got some neat cheapo stuff.

^ Yea, as for the rot, we've heard a billion times about controlling humidity and light exposure, but it's a shame it seems to be completely out of our control. Can't stop oxidation I guess. Finest and Chrome rust, baby.

On mobile atm, is the player name and SP logo on the Inside Info Golds, gold? I think I remember at least the etched foil portion being gold but I can't tell if that's just the color of the court on the Kemp. They really are special cards though, I love the blue etched foil going on with the inner portion of the Penny. Very reminiscent of the '95 Metal base cards.

The only other Penny I was looking for from sek was the Hardcourt Heroics MO but he sold it earlier. I could've sworn I had the standard version already, literally since release, but I can't find it.

And lol @ the pickup game board card, Christ, I vaguely remember those. Did they feature all different jerseys? That Nba Jam Extreme arcade is prob the grand prize nowadays, wouldn't be surprised if they go for a ton.

I think that once it starts, even on a minute level, no matter how well you store your cards, it's game over. Who knows how they were stored before we got the cards? Maybe the rate of change is different on each card? Just wish they weren't faulty because the rot has ruined so many iconic cards.

The SP logo and the foil, both the stamped foil and the etched foil are gold...or maybe there's just a golden hue over them. I'll have to double check. Really cool stuff. I'm going to have to put the base set together some day.

Dude...on that pickup game, if I had won anything OTHER than the NBA Jam arcade, I'd be pissed. Like the 1st place prize...a trip for two? Eat my ass, NBA, no thanks on that one. WTF am I as a kid going to do on a cruise liner? Also had I won the grand prize, I know for a fact no one would have taken me, so scratch that one too.

Here are a couple other cards...by the way, take a look at that Million Dollar Moments card and then go look up his 99/00 Flair card. Almost identical, it's funny that these throwaway cards look very similar in design to Flair from that year, same kind of background, same kind of centered photo of the player. 99/00 was straight up poo poo platter compared to the previous three years.

And this Roundball parallel I got thanks to help from a friend of mine. This is the only time I have ever seen it for sale, ever. I have never seen it before, so I'm glad this one is in.

Oh snap, I've never seen this McDyess auto before but that's a great card. Love the colors. I'd buy that for 6.72!!!

I think you're right on the rate being different from set to set. Even when it looked like they were starting to fix the issue in releases ~98, you still see examples, just not as many - yet.
Thanks for clarification on the Golds, I'll honestly prob never pursue the Penny, pretty happy with the standard.
As for the Million Dollar Moments looking just like 99 Showcase, that's pretty funny. Never noticed that.

Fantastic pickup, I'm a big McDyess guy too, just prefer Nugs uni stuff.

Back in August I started a thread https://www.blowoutforums.com/showthread.php?t=1233065 about a small gamble I made on an IP Penny auto. Got some great feedback from members and eventually had my own opinion on it being fake, too. Rather than return it to the guy and have him dupe someone else, I just hung onto it. Anyway, here's the replacement I just got in, and my first Penny auto card in general. Stickers don't bother me at all as long as their placement works. Guy even threw in the one touch.

Quick post from me because I've gotta get back to work. The Leaf /39 has basically been impossible to find, as are most of the other rookies from this parallel set. The Optic Black Velocity parallel turned out to be one of the most underrated parallels Panini made last year.

Thad was $10 dlvd. Leaf was $15 dlvd. The 3 Choice Reds /88 came as a lot from oshmeehan for $12 dlvd.

sweet card though, I love how crispy Prizm is The photo on the card and the photo of it you took are both excellent. I don't think I've ever seen that action shot used on another card before.

Your Pacers stuff is in really good taste. Man, this one card stands out the most though. Gold on its own is always a treat to see, but it is so perfect with the Pacers colors.

Dropping another MONSTER on you guys. I freaking love these mini cards, so fun to collect them this way.

That Choice Red lot for that price is lowkey one of the biggest steals you could hope for. Awesome Tractor Traylor and Kobe mini too. Those mini's look oddly awesome separated.

This card isn't a new pickup but I just attempted to work some Office Lens magic with it for the first time and I'm amazed at how good the pic came out. I don't know if it's even possible to get a better image of these. The gold finish makes them impossible to scan because they just turn out nearly blacked out.

I took it outside on my back porch at about 45 minutes before sundown. Office Lens flattened out the pic for me. Couldn't believe how it looked under that light.

The pic is mind blowing, Collector's Choice Gold Sig has never been this amazing before, ever. That's like altered perception level seeing new colors. You ever watch one of those videos where a deaf person hears for the first time? Well, the same concept applies here.
