Got some nasty holo in and laid in down on a Ermsy Trout Negative.


Wet Willie with some straight up holofoil and a small white border.


‘59 (?? forget really) Fresh Prince of Helaire on 3M reflective/vortex

I don't like the dots. I do really enjoy his bold new backgrounds and colors he is using. I like the direction he is going in his art.

My hunch is Blake was going for an exaggerated color halftone effect with the dots on Sandy, and I bet it looks better on small card rather up big on a monitor. I like the concept, just maybe dont love the execution. Its still my favorite card of his though!

Right now, I have numerous shipments from Topps floating around the country between card nos. 149-195. I’ve received about 1/2 of them but there are gaps all over the place. How are some people getting card 211 shipped out already? WTF Topps, I will never understand whatever process you have for this.

I have received #158 Thiele Williams and #172 Grotesk Williams, but am still waiting on #146 Don C Williams. To be fair to Topps, they shipped out #146 before the others. USPS has been wildly inconsistent.

USPS has gotten me some stuff in 2 days, other times 10 days. Some days I get 5 packages, others nothing. It’s all nuts. Just gotta wait it out I guess.

On the plus side, got 157 Efdot Jeter and 165 Chang Ryan today- beautiful cards both!

Their processes for everything just seem so bizarre. Except for the "make your own card" thing. That they seem to have down to a science (at least for my few orders over the years).

Nailed it - that's exactly the vibe I was going for. I did a few variations and (some with dots more subtle, and some more exaggerated dots that looked even more like chicken pox). Ended up splitting the difference with the one I submitted.

I touched upon it earlier in the day, but I believe this new style may be the start of Blake's "measles" phase.

Given the state of the world and US currently, I love it.

Curious if he will continue with strictly measles or visually explore and assign other disorders in his remaining releases. Syphilis could be interesting but probably too disgusting for a family product like this. Mumps might work well and could have a bit of continuity with the current measles release..

Today I got shipping notifications for cards:
175-180
and
209-210

I've been getting a TON of shipments from Topps, with many days receiving 5-10 different cards. Sometimes I get shipping notifications, sometimes I don't. So here's to hoping 175-210 all arrive next week!
