First, I cannot wait to catch up in this thread! I'm like 3 or 4 days behind now.

Second, today's cards are amazing!!!

Lastly for now, I'm enjoying packing up cards and shipping them out as much as I enjoy receiving them.

I have received up to card #138 from Topps so far, even though many of my orders are only partial orders. (Don't know what the heck is going on with that). And I have shipping notices through card #172 at least. Might be a little higher.

Hang in there everyone! These cards are a ton of fun to collect and they look fantastic in groups.

Hopefully be back in here in a day or so. Hold down the fort.
Appreciate the update. Hang in there! Looking forward to having your back

Top 5 in my book but I'd definitely rank Gibson and Ichiro ahead of the Ripken set. And Brett and Henderson are competitive. Full disclosure, I have a strong pro-Rickey bias.

Cal has a nice set.

Thieles' is terrible and it is one of Don C's weaker efforts but he did get a strong OMA and has great Siff, Fucci, Ermsy, Taylor, Efdot, Saladeen, Beck...

Even Baller's is ok. I think the sets that get a later Rochester will benefit, though.

Don C Rip is def on the bottom of his set and the Nic Cage/Thiele is as well no doubt

You're not wrong. The Cal set helped by Oldmanalan not straying too far from the original card photo.

I also like the range of Tony Gwynn cards with all the colors and the mixed use of the head shot vs. running down the line. Not my favorite player in the set...but my favorite player set so far.

My hot take of the day - I know people bashed the lack of color but.... I think the Fucci Mattingly might be my favorite card I have in-hand so far

I'll +1 to that as a Yankee fan who has been completely drawn in to Gibby cards

The Ermsy companion is incredible

Ripken would possibly be my top player set if it weren't for the awful face on Thiele's. I'd put Gibson at #1.

I've cut back to just Ermsy, Grotesk, Matt Taylor & Clemente cards the past few months because this set was just getting too expensive buying everything. This is one of the priciest week I've had in a while.

I think you are all missing the Frank Thomas run.

So far they work really well together. Lots of color in many examples and the Shore and Fucci are two of my favorites of their work. I am concerned that OMA might turn in a picture of Frank Thomas from the 50s. Hoping for the best.

There is zero chance Frank will be fielding from his knee on the OMA card. Start googling vintage Big Hurt t-shirts right now if you want some hints.

I almost put him at 5 with Williams/Brett. The three of them all have really great colors going on and wildly different cards.
