President Trump spent the weekend golfing and spent the morning tweeting about how corrupt the Obama/Biden administration was....glad he is focusing on helping the country!

Stock market crashing, airlines canceling thousands of flights, oil prices down 25%, 10-year US treasury yield falls to their lowest ever, ports are empty, 6 states declaring states of emergency...and it's all CNN's fault according to some of our BO experts!

Wrong, that's not Trump's fault. He only makes the markets go up. Magic wand of the Presidency and all.

We can do this all day but if he is taking the credit for the highs, then shoulder some of the blame for the lows. He acted as if all the highs we had were his doing. They're not. Just like all these lows are his fault. They're not. It's amazing how some just can't admit this.

Shouldn't YOU be better than that, though? Either you believe the President controls the stock market, or you don't.

Again, you're playing the same game. If you didn't praise him for the highs, don't put the lows on him. Be better.

Trump had an aggregated approval around 46% while the economy was in very good shape. Interested to see where that moves as we head to a recession. Bush and Obama moved towards 50% prior to re-election.

I don't give the Presidency the credit for causing long-term highs and lows. Never have. My point is how we have people who parrot his tweets as they are gospel. If he is constantly talking about how great the market is and is either directly or indirectly taking credit for it, why does he now blame everything and everyone for it going down? It's annoying and hypocritical.

Again, I don't think the President has the power to cause long-term gains and losses. The market does that on its own.

Just an FYI, he's not reading this thread. So it seems kind of pointless to call him out for his hypocrisy. That's what makes any political discussion go downhill. I think most level-headed people agree that the President doesn't control the stock market. I mean, even Obama took credit for such things. It's what politicians do.

Exactly.
When he uses the superlative adjectives and calls everything (oddly) perfect I dont sit there and believe it's all because of him

The virus isn't his blame
The stock market isn't the idiot's blame either

Why do some care about the small number of clueless freaks that praise trump's tweets?

I'm so happy I don't do social media

90-95% of people have their mind made up. It's the 5-10% in the middle that matters.

Take that one off of your Biden dementia list, and then, physician, by all means, heal thyself.

You are literally pushing a conspiracy theory for the specific purpose of helping Trump's reelection bid. This was never about Biden. It is instead another example of his various acolytes' shameful willingness to warp reality to benefit Trump's cause, same as was the case with Hillary's supposed illness in 2016.

If Biden has dementia 'cuz guys on the internet say so, then so does Trump. Familiarize yourself with the article titled, “A Medical Theory For Trump’s Bizarre Behavior" by Steven Beutler, an infectious disease expert. It would explain an awful lot, but it's not enough for me to buy hook, line, and sinker, and thus, link to it here. Even so, it should be more than enough to satisfy your own standards for verisimilitude. Enjoy.
Don't you regularly post the "good people on both sides"? That is taken out of context just as much as this is.

Keep doing you.

I don't think it is even 5-10%. Believe everyone is already locked in for who they are voting for.

Then why are any of us here then? Not a single politician of note is here reading this.

Maybe my point also pointed to the fact that I'm sure some of the people here have parroted his claims. These same people have said that a strong economy and stock market will seal the deal for Trump. Maybe that's why Trump on Facebook just posted about how overblown the COVID-19 coverage is. I'm sorry but that's not how a head of state like him should be carrying himself. People are dying or being hospitalized as we speak and he seems to be making light of it. It's really poor taste.

Trump deserves a LOT of credit for the economy ROARING over the past few years.

I don't think anyone thinks Trump deserves credit for the recent losses, and most economists are clearly blaming coronavirus fears.

I for one, am thankful we are facing that fear under the strength of a good economy. Could you imagine if we were facing this fear under the Economy Obama had built?

Why are we here? Because politics are important and it's fun to discuss. It goes south as soon as people stoop to the level of memes and calling out the President, who isn't going to see the post.

As for the economy, it will still be a big factor in favor of Trump, because, like I said, most level-headed people understand what is really happening.

LOL the same Obama who took on the worst economy since the great depression and saw a 148% increase in the market in his 8 years?

You should try a different argument.

A lot of level headed people don't vote. A person is smart, people are dumb. They see the markets crashing, viruses spreading, uncertainty around the world and they will start to get panicked if they aren't already.

And I don't know how calling out the President and the things his followers say causes this to go south. I'm speaking to his followers, not to the man himself.
