So that gives a feel for where the market currently values the silver packs (and of course this is just the market guessing right now since no one has opened one). A couple of Lite boxes auctioned off at about what Topps sells them for.
Wait people are buying Lite boxes on ebay? They are literally sitting on Topps website still.

Shout out to the guys on ebay trying to get $200 for a Lite box lol

People are paying aftermarket premiums on stuff that's been sitting on Target.com for months also.

Yeah, go figure. I've seen this with other products as well where people will actually pay more at auction then what they could pay if they just bought from Topps or Target. For example, Fire blasters can go for $30-35 on Ebay even thought they are still available on Target for $25. I suppose some people just don't bother to look around.

Lite boxes were likely the last ones packed. No need to drive traffic to topps.com when most offering sell out the first day.

Correct - not everyone does the kinda’ homework the average BO Member does. Lotsa’ emotional impulse buys, as if there’s only that one chance to own something that’s mass produced. Always happened / always will

Of course lots of people go to ebay first without thinking but they can also get their items lightning fast compared to Target and Topps especially. And what's ebay about but instant gratification.

$90-$100 Topps Chrome boxes are forever gone. thats like saying Wander Base rookies will be $3-$5 max, in my opinion .0001% chance

I believe the lowest these can get to would be $225 and if Witt/Jrod get called up it can be max $750/box by release

My prediction is at least $350
$1900 per hobby case and dropping..............that's about $160 per box.

Wander base getting pretty close to $5, just one week after product release.

Yeesh. Taking a look at some of yesterday's Wander auctions.

72 for Prism
45 for a Refractor
89 for a Pink
400 for an Aqua /199
258 for a Purple /250
412 for a Blue /150

This man is an 80 grade prospect.

Prices on these parallels seem appropriate to me. Whose other raw TC base refractor sells over $50? Judge, Ohtani and maybe Tatis and Acuna(barely?)
Add in the centering issues injury/ underwhelming season and exploded PR?
What were we expecting?

I don't disagree.

But these are the hits that are supposed to pay for your boxes and it's a week from release. Pointing out the obvious again but those higher prices hits on recent rookies came from much cheaper boxes.

If the boxes were $100-$120 as they should be and probably will be in a few weeks would you have a different opinion?
To me the biggest issue again is the base checklist. If there were similar low end refractor RC hits of Julio, Strider and others it would make ripping this less painful.
Just because Topps dorked the checklist doesn’t make the few worthwhile hits sell for way more than normal. It just makes opening the boxes that much more foolhardy IMO.

Those will all get cut in half. Maybe not the Blue and Purple as much. Simply too many parallels that are diluting the pool. This is why the market is treating ultra modern base like garbage. Why buy base when there are plenty of very affordable parallels? Basic refractors are the new base.

Boxes at a show today on the west coast - my buddy gave me a report - $180 sticker for hobby, $350 jumbos.

Would give a discount for regulars -$170 hobby/$340 jumbos.

Prices still dropping in real time!

Remember these presold at $500/$1000.

Almost a 70% drop in price if you were patient and didn’t fall for the hype.

with no First Topps Chromes of the main draws in these, the price has to drop a lot more

Yes. Absolutely.

We are only ONE week from product release. There are still people out there wondering why they haven’t pulled a chrome Jroid or Witt yet.

You will get the highest percentage profit with base.

They aren’t sexy, but they will give you the biggest return percentage wise if Wander ever gets hot again.
