That finished sucked. Do we need to really see Crappy Rhodes hold the the title for 2 years? (not counting that awful 3 month cena run) Drew keeps losing title matches and is he going to have any cred to actually be able to win? Cody going to be the next Roman and just keep winning despite it's time to move on from him as champ?

Go figure Cena curses us with yet another boring ass tournament to determine who gets to job to him in his last match.

Once again they show Jey may be popular with fans but the people backstage have no trust in him. The push IMO is over as far as Main Event Titles.

Seth said yesterday on ESPN that he will be out 6 months, which puts him in line for a WM return in April. So look forward to Punk/Rollins/Breakker triple threat and my bet is Breakker wins.

HHH just plays it so safe with the Undisputed Title. Can this belt only ever change hands at Mania or Summerslam? Why even book this match just for Drew to lose again? It's crazy how far he's fallen since the feud with Punk. And where does Cody even go from here? I guess Jacob is his next feud but it's hard to see him being the one to dethrone Cody. Maybe we'll get a Cody heel turn out of it to spice things up because I just don't see any compelling storylines for a face Cody anytime soon.

Unless you run it back with Solo, turn Orton, (or put Cody into War Games to buy time) there's nobody on Smackdown left to feud with.

You can tell Punk was not happy when Jey botched a simple neckbreaker and kicked him in the head. Jey was sloppy that entire match. It's time to put Jimmy and Jey back as a tag team an forget about them in the tag division. They can still do the 5 minute YEET pop but neither belong in the singles division.

Edit: They are going to start to push the Jey heel turn even more. Jey posts a pic on IG with him on floor and Punk on the ropes holding the WHC with Yall Win and the middle finger.

They need a draft so badly and HHH really needs to both call up wrestlers from NXT and start pushing mid carders to be actually threats to the world championship. The biggest issue right now is that everything is stale. Same people have been fighting each other for the better part of a year now.

Thing is they are not going to likely have Ilja drop the title so soon. IMO he should have been the guy to beat Sami for it. Destroy Sami and run with the US title for several months destroying people.

I think it would help Oba to beat Cena in his last match the WWE will probably go some big name winning the tourney as people will probably be pissed off if some no name guy is Cena last match and they paid hundreds if not thousands of dollars for a ticket to see that.

So do we have details on when this tournament will take place ? I'm guessing across all 3 brands over the next month or so with semi finals/finals taking place at SS ?

Also heard people from outside WWE will be involved which has started up the Edge/Jericho predictions again. But we're likely to get TNA guys like Hendry, Moose, Cardona, etc. instead.

It's pretty much true. The Punk fan boys are in heaven. But I don't think he'll hold the belt more than 4-6 months. He's bound to wear out his welcome sooner or later.

LOL people won't stop this Edge garbage it's not going to happen. Plus Edge is so washed I would not want him in the ring even if they could.

But yes I expect a guy like Hendry and a AAA wrestler. But I would not go more then 2 or 3 outside WWE guys because why take so many spots otherwise away from WWE talent.

Raw: Styles, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Gunther, Jey, Knight

Smackdown: Carmleo, Miz, Drew, Sami, Orton, Solo

NXT: Oba, Page

TNA: Hendry

AAA: Vikingo

I am not much of a CM Punk fan but he was the right answer to go over Jey. Jey is horrible in the ring and his promo's stink. I have no issue if Punk losses the title at RR. We don't need everyone keeping the title for a year plus some short title regins are needed.

Perhaps it's just the fan in me, but a Jey heel turn seems too telegraphed to actually happen. I'd be intrigued by it. The hate continues to be silly though. He's basically treated as an upper midcard guy, like a Dolph Ziggler or Kevin Owens. They have enough faith in him that it doesn't matter how many losses he takes, they can plug him into something and people buy it. Ring work blah blah blah, but the outrage over him main eventing a SNME is just getting bizarre. These shows mean basically nothing and are glorified RAWs/Smackdowns. The guy basically has never won any big match for 3 years running outside last years road to Wrestlemania. Imagine if he actually won how much some of you guys would flip out!

but I think everyone knows that isn't going to happen or probably won't happen for quite a long time. He had his belt win for a short time, WWE knows they can still get merch sales and get people hyped for his entrance even if he fails at all of the big matches. That seems to be the main reason why people were talking about Main Event, it was no surprise that they would have him lose once again. Especially to Punk. I don't think many people will 'flip out' as much as question what the point would be for him winning if since he really is more of a stop-gap wrestler for the next storyline of the bigger face or heal of the company

This 100%. Jey is the guy that if he gets pretty much any singles title it's just so they can likely take off one heel to put on another heel. He's like Sami Zayn a guy the fans like and love to cheer for as the underdog but once he gets that title fans lose interest and never will hold the title very long before dropping it.

Oh I'm not surprised he lost, like I said I just don't really understand why people flip out that he was in the main event of a SNME show. If you don't believe me go on reddit.

I'm curious to find out if we'll get to see the Cena tourney's brackets in advance or if they'll make each 1st round matchup a surprise, now that we know his opponent's identity won't be a surprise, come Dec. 13th.

If they are truly going to do what's best for business, Cena's final match will launch a young star who will command attention and not the somebody from the same-old, same-old. Gunther? Meh.

It has to be Oba Femi. He has all of the skills to do it.

The biggest key beyond size and persona is that he can talk. That means a ton for a top name when it comes to mainstreaming and holding a belt.

There's a part of me that feels like this whole tournament is BS and whoever wins it will NOT end up in the match with Cena.

Cena's gonna be waiting in the ring for whomever to show up, the camera goes backstage, and the winner is laid out.

Camera pans up and it's Edge/Jericho/Gunther/Brock/Bron Breakker who laid whomever out and takes their spot in the "last match".

It's just giving me Edge stealing the last pod at Elimination Chamber or Brock at MITB vibes...

Saw a post on X not sure if any truth to it or not that WWE officials think Jey was high during his match with Punk leading to his poor in ring performance.

Did Jey pull a Jeff and get high before a match?

No reason to discuss this unless it's from a reliable source.
