Much respect to Maye, and a lot of this was out of his control since he can only play the teams mandated by the NFL on his schedule.

But it's Staff. Insane run against some of the top NFC teams. He at least splits the upcoming Detroit/Seattle matchups and it should be smooth sailing.

It’s Matt Stafford and no one else is close at the moment.

My non-Vegas 11/24/2025 Update:

M. Stafford
.
.
D. Maye
.
.
??
Notes

Unc Stafford lengthens his lead with a flawless 30/2 TD/INT season thus far. An MVP award solidifies his HoF candidacy, IMO. He's #2 on my all-time "pure passer" list behind Rodgers. What he is doing is truly unbelievable and unforeseen.

Jonathan Taylor's candidacy is over.

Maye has another decent, but not great, game. (That's like 3 in a row now) And again, vs. a bad opponent. But everyone else has disappeared, so he keeps the #2 spot by default.

Joshy boy - too inconsistent.

Yeah, it's Stafford over Maye right now, but it's closer than it should be given the talent disparity between the teams' offensive lines and wide receivers.

Still a lot of season left, but agree that Stafford is the clear frontrunner. Taylor had a shot until this last game. Maye is doing a nice job guiding the team to victories, but I just don't see him as MVP worthy. Cupcake schedule with solid, but not MVP level stats

Would love to see Garrett just goes bananas and end up with 25-30 sacks (obliterating the record). More than likely he just gets DPOY, but I was curious and looked up MVP winners from teams that did not make the playoffs. Apparently, it happened with the 1967 Baltimore Colts (Johnny Unitas) and the 1973 Buffalo Bills (OJ Simpson). Only two defensive players have ever won the MVP (defensive tackle Alan Page in 1971 and linebacker Lawrence Taylor in 1986). Would be fun to see a non QB win at some point to mix it up, though such a low probability

Either you or Johnny reported my post last night about Alicia, with your history I just figured it was you.

Yes still a lot of season left but this is OVER. The only way someone else has a chance to make it close is if Stafford gets hurt this week or turns into JJ McCarthy.

Would be very cool to see a defensive player win it again.

I did see that a special teams player won it once: Place Kicker Mark Moseley (Redskins) in 1982. Haven't seen that term (Place Kicker) used in a while.

Though the award has heavily favored QBs, by it's definition, it is to be awarded to the player, "adjudged to have been the most valuable in that year's regular season."

If the season ended today, Stafford would be the obvious MVP. Maye would get some support, but Stafford is old, never won it, and has rarely even made the ProBowl. In the minds of the voters, giving him the MVP may help legitimize his Hall of Fame career.

That being said, a fun bet to make right now is $5 on Lamar Jackson. He’s at +10,000 right now so you could risk $5 to maybe turn it in to $500. Sounds crazy, I know. But they started 1-5 and could win their Division. If Stafford and Maye falter, and Lamar explodes down the stretch, may not be a bad bet.

I never picked the Bucs to win last night. Calling Baker names after he suffers an injury is in your wheelhouse.

I don't know what you're talking about. Why would I report you? I sure as hell smashed the triangle on JHJ after he made a disparaging comment/insult about my personal life.

But he's still here, which tells me the mods probably looked at JHJ's wax ordering history and gave him a pass. I would get suspended if I made such a remark. (I don't buy wax here)

I am seeing +12500 at my sportsbook. He doesn't have the statistics. Betting on Lamar to win MVP is the same as lighting the money on fire.

OPOY just had a massive shift. Taylor was -425 before this weekend with JSN +290.

Now...

Offensive Player of the Year
Jonathan Taylor (IND)-130
Jaxon Smith-Njigba (SEA)EVEN

Indianapolis is facing tough defenses the rest of the way. Seahawks schedule is mostly favorable.
