First Buzz: 2023 Topps World Baseball Classic baseball cards

Just opened 1 of the 2 boxes I got from Topps. They were delivered a couple of days ago, but son stayed at a friend's house so had to wait for him he said lol. Could tell I had a book after opening pack as the case was only halfway closed. Boy wanted me to put it at the back, so I did and ended up putting a 1/1 Yu Darvish as the first card we saw! Best base was an Acuna with a dinged corner and a Machado Captains insert. Book turned out to be a Kyle Tucker name plate auto /6!

This stuff is awesome and really disappointed already I didn't get more but had spent way too much over the Holidays. Will open the other box probably tomorrow and post pics after that as well.

Don't worry, there's still a lot of other (and bigger) Ohtani cards yet to be hit. This might not even be that big of a card for others but it's definitely a monster for me.



Lol, disregard my wife's hair under the card. I was so excited, I set the card on the ground, ran over to my camera to take a pic, then sleeved it up ASAP.

Highlights are below. I would gladly rip another case or two of this.
I had one interesting pack out. The pack with the Julien International Gems had 13 cards in it and was bulging out like the relics do.

First picture is the good stuff, second picture is the better variations and the last picture is the best hits.

The Freeman in the last picture is the variation.

Now I'm going to see how many sets I can build.

Nice rip guys!! Definitely one of the best value breaks out there (probably one of the most fun rips of my life too). Can't believe I almost passed on this product too.

I was highly skeptical of this product, but absolutely love the game-used bases which is a big shocker to me as I normally don't go for game-used stuff. Just great execution on these.

Thanks man, mine sold last night and I'm happy with the result. If it was Game Worn i think prices would be different (and I'd prob have held onto mine).

You guys are making me jealous with all of these breaks. I’m still waiting on my 2nd box that seems to have gotten lost. No update since Dec 28 when it supposedly left the Mail Innovations location 2 hrs from my house.

No, the back of the card says, "The relic contained in this card is not from any specific game, event, or season."

Just there for decoration.

The whole image variation thing was really poor planned. It’s annoying how I really have no clue which my image variations are. My only reasonable complaint about the product.

They are all game used, just because it has that wording doesn't mean its not game used. They all say game used memorabilia

How can we be sure of this? There's no MLB authentication sticker to confirm it.

Based on the wording Topps used, they could've bought something at Walmart, cut it up, and put in card.
