So, here's my question - how low could hobby boxes actually go? Could this get to sub-100 levels? Certainly has the feel of a black Friday race to the bottom. I really want to buy 6-12 boxes for fun, but I feel like I just have to wait it out. This would still be a fun break in 5 months...

This is going to sound like me pumping it, but if it gets much lower I think it will be so low it rubber bands up. A lot of breakers are running through this stuff, and I personally think this stuff will actually be a good buy overtime. I know I sound like an idiot.

Won’t go below $120 Hobby, $65 Lite. I think it will moderate around $150/$75 midterm. Long term, will be significantly higher than that.

Are they? I was just looking at team breaks and tallied up a few, and the breakers are likely taking a pretty nice loss. The last 4 box hobby break I saw sold all teams for less than $700. Player breaks will surely do better, but my God the sorting and shipping would be a nightmare. I actually think the breaks are going to slow down even further as getting a single base card out of a case break does not make for happy customers. The 700 card checklist just makes breaks really ugly for 95% of spots.

I thought about buying into a break or two, but it looks like prices have doubled since last night. I guess I'll just grab a bit of retail instead...maybe snag a cheap hobby box.

I keep buying refractors and boxes. The cheaper it gets the better. I bought pre-sale and overpaid, which made me feel like I needed to take advantage of the much lower post release prices. I love these cards but am disappointed that they advertised so many parallels that were cut. Not including the Griffey sucks, but I get it; sometimes, for some reason, a guy can’t sign. But not including a bunch of parallels that everyone was expecting stinks. I guess the silver lining is less expensive for player collectors. 30+ parallels sounded crazy from the beginning. Another silver lining is that I haven’t seen any redemptions.

What I have seen people that are running case breaks by team are doing very well. Selling all teams around 3k a case

I checked Hobby Legends and they did sell their two half case breaks for around $2900. That is honestly a crazy price for something like this where big hit rate is super low. I just can't believe that premium sustains.

Speaking of crazy, Mantle SP is going for around $1k early. $1k for a card that looks exactly like all the previous chrome reprints and has 500 copies in this release.

Correct. Lots of odd airbrushing too. It’s a fun break, but I don’t think I’m going to do the base set like I had originally intended.

Fanatics can’t afford etching right now. They have too much ground to make up after their league deals.
