I could use a little help. I have still been setting up my inventory to kick-off my selling on sportlots. Due to other life circumstances, this has taken me forever. To avoid my inventory getting removed (again) due to inactivity on vacation mode, I took advice from a member on here and set all of my shipping rates at 99.99.

WELL, today I woke up and saw that I had an order. For one card. At $0.98 with 99.99 budget shipping. On my fill order page, it has another column for PayPal at $3.23. Does anyone know what my best course of action is here? I can't believe someone pulled the trigger here. I haven't received a message from them saying oops; nothing. I'm assuming they've already paid as I have the option to hit a "fill my order" button.

I guess I don't mind shipping the card to them (as I didn't intend on starting to sell yet, but no. big deal). That said, if I'm shipping out the card, I definitely want to refund them the great majority of their shipping payment.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Contact the buyer! He may have overlooked the postage, thinking it wouldn't be but a couple of bucks. He may say go ahead, or he might try to get PayPal to cancel the transaction. I would definitely contact him before sending the card.
Never had that happen in the 15 years I've been on sportlots, but I've had other weird stuff happen. Good luck.

So it happened again. Can't believe 2 people have now purchase with 99.99 shipping. When I go to do a partial refund, it is just only for the price of the card. Unless I'm missing something looks like I have to refund the entire amount and take the negative feedback on these?

Send a message to Sportlots support. They will fix it.

Anyone else having issues doing searches all of a sudden? It was ok earlier this morning. I can browse by set, but the keyword search doesn't work.

A card I ordered on 9/29 finally showed up today. I had written it off as a loss but I guess sometimes they just circle the globe before getting delivered.

I sold and mailed a package sometime in the middle of September - noticed a few weeks back that the buyer left positive feedback stating the package never arrived but was understanding.
He was really quite accepting of the whole situation and wasn't looking for any replacements or any compensation. I went through the normal process with USPS but had written the package off myself.

Just this afternoon, I got a text notification from the USPS and it appears the package is back on its way again and should be delivered (hopefully) soon. Wil be close to three months from shipment to delivery if it all goes right from here on out.

I've been buying on sportlots since 2005. My first order included rookie cards of Jeremy Hermida, Josh Johnson, Tim Stauffer, Brad Eldred, and Yorman Bazardo.

November was a little slow, but December has been very busy so far.

That's crazy! Maybe they are expecting you to hand deliver the card from 1,000 miles away.

October and November were slow for me. Still would qualify as my best months ever pre covid. December has taken off including my best sale ever yesterday.

This has been an interesting month for sure - generally, my sales on COMC and SL follow similar trends. Dec has been well above average on SL while COMC has been well below average.

I get that sportlots and COMC dont have a big buyer overlap since they offer very different types pricing levels of the cards being offered, but could it be that some COMC buyers are getting tired of waiting months to have their purchases in their hands and are giving sportlots a try?

It is certainly possible - I only really track my monthly sales so maybe if I were to break it down by daily/weekly it would look different. Maybe it has always been that way the two weeks following the Black Friday sales.

My gut tells me it is a number of things lining up.

Maybe there are people shying away from COMC - though I still believe that is more anecdotal than anything. I think their processing/shipping times would reflect it more starkly if they were truly experiencing a significant decrease in activity. As I see it, they seem plenty busy.

To that end though, I haven't sent in a submission since pre-COVID - so that could negatively impact numbers

I have also been able to spend more time adding in cards and scans in SL which could positively impact sales

Then again, this is only a something that has been realized in the past two weeks. Maybe it is just an anomaly and will even itself out by the end of the month.

Could be. But its also true that the big COMC sale of the year combined with 5% cashback for purchases ran from Black Friday to Cyber Monday. So it may be as simple as most COMC buyers having done whatever buying they were going to do before Christmas in late November.

I know I've made several Sportlots purchases this month, after having done bought lots on COMC but nothing on Sportlots in November.

If you sell on COMC and your cards get listed to eBay through them, do you count it as COMC sales or eBay sales? That's the only way I'll order from them that site right now since that's still normal shipping times.

Odd question in a Sportlots thread. But if you're the seller, it's a COMC sale no matter how it is sold. If you're the buyer and you buy on eBay, you are paying the eBay shipping fee but should get your item quicker as they have to meet the eBay shipping deadlines. If you buy on COMC, you'll be subject to whatever deadline they have on your shipment that they do or do not meet.

As a seller, I would qualify that as a COMC sale.

My categories are as follows:
Direct Sales (forum, facebook, twitter, etc)
eBay
COMC
Sportlots
Other (MySlabs a bit more these days)
Consignment broken out by house (infrequent)

Oh I just asked because people were talking about their COMC sales and what was driving sales. I thought maybe people had moved to buying from ebay bc of the shipping times when you buy on the COMC site. Anyways I'm probably not explaining what I mean very well.

Just wondering if anyone has received "negative" feedback because of USPS issues. I received an order on Saturday evening Dec. 5th, pulled and packaged the order on Sunday the 6th, and mailed on Monday the 7th. I use an online postage service, and I monitor all package shipments daily. If a package has not delivered in 4 days, I look at tracking history. On the 11th, this package was still sitting in the regional processing center after 3 days. I sent the tracking number to the buyer, so he could see what was going on. I put in a postal inquiry and asked that they send me email updates when the package moved. On the 13th, I received an email that the package was "in transit", aren't they all. Finally on the 15th, I received an email update that the package would deliver on the 16th, which it did. It took 9 days to arrive, which is becoming the norm. I had one recently that took 22 days, had to file a missing mail claim on that one. Anyway, I thought I had done all I could to get the package to the buyer. Then he posted this feedback, "12/17/2020 Negative Very slow shipping." Evidently he never checked the tracking at USPS, but I really think he doesn't care after checking his feedback report.

Positive Feedback Left 4 57.1%
Neutral Feedback Left 0 0.0%
Negative Feedback Left 3 42.9%
Paid Fixed Price Orders 18 100.0%

I sent Max a message about it, including tracking number, so he could check it. Max thinks the customer is always right, so he won't change the feedback. Heck, Sportlots allows customers to file a "Not received" issue after 10 days. With all the USPS problems, I believe there will be more issues and bad feedback.
Needless to say this customer joined many others on my "Omit List".

Max should do the right thing, and if any negative feedback is left for slow shipping due the USPS issue, it should be removed.

ID please?

PSA for those who use the boxes, given how bad Sportslots is about sending you messages without having to log on to the on-site inbox. 15% of shipping costs rebated as COMC credit for shipping from box this weekend only - I'll definitely be taking advantage!

Text of message below:

"Sportlots boxes has been very successful! Many of you have taken full advantage of the
shipping savings you can realize with this option.

However, due to the success, we have filled up our office space. We will be moving to a larger
space in the spring, but in the meantime, I need to provide an incentive to cash out in
order to make some room to hold us over until then.

If you request shipment of your box orders by Midnight (CST) Sunday, December 20th, I will credit your
Sportlots account a minimum of 15% off your box shipping charges. So for example, if you currently
need to pay $25.00 to have your box items shipped to you, if you pay by the deadline, I will credit your account
a minimum of $3.75 into your Sportlots account after we pack up and ship your items. Could be more if
the actual shipping costs are lower than what you paid.

Also, if you currently have items "En Route", we will be processing all of the seller packages we have in
the office yet tonight and complete by Saturday (12/19) by 5pm (CST). After that point, you will know that
all of the orders from sellers that we have in the office has been processed for the rest of the weekend.

Let me know if you have any questions!

** PS.. Since the Packers are playing Saturday night, we have a lot of time available on Sunday to fill
box orders, so if you plan on taking advantage of this 15% rebate, please try to do this prior to noon
on Sunday if possible! Any payments made by Noon on Sunday will have their packages shipped on
Monday.

Thanks"
