Nolan Ryan was a kid at heart.

Maybe that drawing represents his inner self that was constantly exploding out.

Agreed!

A nice surprise too seeing as he's not listed on the main page as one of the subjects

I'll just add one more thing though. These artists purposes don't come from nowhere, they have influences -- they come from an evolution of philosophy of how to apply visual media.

We wouldn't have Picasso without Impressionism, for instance.

I think you are 100% correct there and I'm sorry if I implied otherwise. To be honest, perhaps I'm missing something on some of those pieces. I mean several artists weren't recognized for their ability until after their death so perhaps I just haven't seen it yet or the artist is so far ahead of us/me that I cant, but on some of this stuff I'm just going to have to hold firm that I can't classify it as art.

Thanks for the discussion, I'll go and look a little more into some of those pieces I wasn't too fond of see if I can't change my mind.

Interesting discussion for sure. My rule of thumb is if I can recreate what the "artist" did then it's not professional. And I have limited artistic abilities. You can splash some paint on a canvas, give it an interpretation and fool people. Not me. You can put a cross in urine and give it an interpretation but it's still not art. At least in my book.

Whether they're "missing something" or not, I doubt you'll find any one person who loves all 400 cards. These cards are a fun diversion for me, and gives me something to look forward to each morning. That's the fun thing about art. You can focus on what you like and it's perfectly OK to ignore the rest.

This project has also introduced me to some new artists, so I'm thankful for that as well. Once this covid stuff settles down, I'll be looking for galleries where some of these artists are featured.

That jeter is great. I bought a number of them. I figured it was worth the small risk for the flip, and I could keep one. A few of these I really like and others are quite awful.

Just finished cutting my Trout stencil layers. That one will be my 4th drop.

There's an easter-egg in the stencil - anyone see it?

When I paint it (later this week) I will live-stream the process on my Instagram

Ha. That’s what I saw as well but figured that was just a coincidence.
