What does everyone think about Checklists cards being included?
I was thinking every 90 cards a Checklist card should be done. Do 1-45 on front 46-90 on the back... or do manager/stadium cards and do all 90 on the back. No print runs... just 1. Aaron Judge 2. Joe Panik 3. Nicholas Castellanos 4. Rhys Hoskins (RC) 5. Ian Happ 6. Nick Markakis etc They didn't do checklist cards in 1953... but they did them for Archives. Something like this.... instead of topps... it would say The Living Set

Checklists only if they're included for free. I don't want to have to pay $5 for a checklist just to keep a set going.

#90 Joe Maddon with cards 1-90 on the back #90 Wrigley Field with cards 1-90 on the back So it isn't JUST a checklist. Like 1986 Topps... instead of team checklist... it would be set checklist.

I like the checklist idea, especially with a manager or stadium on the front, but I do like the idea of print runs next to the name is they can squeeze it in. I know checklists run short on character space. |

Looks like a checklist would be released as the season ends... Oct 3rd release.... if they did it every 90 cards. It would take 17 years to get all 30 stadiums in LOL ok.. maybe 90 is a bit high. 45 maybe? |

I don't get the pre-sells. They send them in regular envelopes. One claim of card not received wipes out the profit from 60-75 cards. I used to make a minimal profit on 2016 Topps Now pre-sells. Amazing how many cards got "lost" when there is no tracking. Never have had a package with tracking get lost. I stopped preselling and selling once the window closed. Amazing how much more I made and how many fewer headaches I had.

Simply ego driven. Some of these guys like to work for pennies just so they can say they are the big dick of Topps product. I prefer to work less and make more. To each his own.

I sold thousands of TN cards last year through presales, sent them in photo mailers with stamps, only had 1 say they didn't receive. When I was planning, I built in a cushion expecting 1 out of 50 to disappear.
As far as why they would, you can make a small profit (some people just like the work/hobby aspect of it) and you clear Topps Now Rewards Points for all of these purchases. So even if you're pre-selling at a breakeven or very slight loss during the buying window, it allows you to buy more for discount purposes and earn your coupon codes. And if you ever sell enough, you move up to coveted Platinum status. Also, if they weren't selling during the buying window at the low price, they wouldn't be buying in such bulk. They basically buy whatever they can presell + what they think they can sell after the window. It's more illogical to buy for $9-10 after having 7 days to buy for $5, but that's the situation. |
