See, I would rather keep that aspect a bit, even though I would benefit from your suggestion and get to keep Miles as a 22nd rounder instead of a 15th. Though your suggestion is nice as it covers all the bases

Definitely something we have to address before the season starts. Though something like that, I don't think anyone would complain too much if I just stepped in and made the ruling that the keeper value didn't change in the case like that (Trout dropped and immediately claimed to reach round 15 status)

Very interesting matchup going to the wire for 3rd/4th place. If only machado didnt go 0-4 with 2 ks would of had a really solid week this week and wouldnt be going to the last day. Alcantara and Gasuman vs Ray and suarez will likely determine who takes a lil more cash.

Looking at my teams keeper prospects... I feel I'll be MIA first 10-15 minutes of the draft as it is right now lol

I definitely won't be picking until the 3rd myself.

As of now I plan to keep:

Chris Sale (1st)
Carlos Carrasco or Justin Verlander (2nd for either one)
Jean Segura (7th)
Blake Treinen (20th)

Then deciding between: Touki Toussant (15th), Salvador Perez (13th), Nelson Cruz (6th), or Matt Olson (15th)

Could swap diaz out for conforto, odor, Peraza, Aguilar and Martinez all FA value, but TBH the only one that could possibly sway me at this point ins Conforto giving his ceiling - so i may not pick until the 5th

Robles (15th)

Hendricks and Castillo turned out to be really solid free agent SP pickups, especially when my 2 supposed aces (Martinez and Ray) had disappointing years.

As for my keepers, I'll have some interesting choices. For now, the only locks are-

Miles Mikolas (22nd)
Scooter Gennett (24th)

But many other options, including-

Noah Syndergaard (2nd)
Lance McCullers (9th)
Eddie Rosario (10th)
Robinson Cano (15th)
Gleyber Torres (16th)


I'd definitely be willing to do some trading before keepers are due. Speaking of, I guess I should make it official, trades are on the table again now! We'll set an official keeper due date later on in the offseason. I'll post our draft order in the OP of this thread later on today, and I'll keep track of any changes to the order through trades there (ESPN doesn't handle that super well all the time, so I'll keep track just to make sure)

I don't see why not. The only issue I could foresee is someone wanting to keep a player in the 10th round, for example, they have to be sure they have a draft pick in the 10th round to forfeit

We need have rules spelled out for that. If I want to keep a 10th rd value player, can I trade my 10th round pick and have the player by 9th rd value, or if I trade the pick to I forfeit the ability to keep that player?

I'm fine with either way so long as there's no situation where you can to keep a player for a cheaper pick than what they should be. Thoughts, everyone?

Obviously we have a ton of time before we need to turn in keepers but I'm thinking I have 3 certain keepers so far.

Merrifield Round 8
Benintendi Round 3
Bauer Round Round 7

Haniger makes sense at a 14th round value but he doesn't get me excited. Osuna will become a keeper, at a 15 round value, if and when his status is cemented as a bell cow closer. I'm really thin in terms of viable options elsewhere.

Also, the top 5 scoring offensive players in our league scored a combined 2763 points. The Top 5 pitchers? 3465. Something really needs to be done about that in my opinion. The two are never going to match up but that's a wide disparity that clearly shows how weighted our scoring system is towards pitchers.

I do want to say thank you Hollywood for organizing and running this league. It is different but fun. I will definitely be returning next year.

Maybe we can have a 1-2 week proposal period where people can express their ideas (with details) of what rules we can change. Following that period maybe have a vote and make it so you need 70% approval or the rule stays the same

Thought we weren't allowing the trade of draft picks because people may trade a bunch of picks and then bail.

Are you able to change the payout to Commish payout on Leaguesafe? It is set on majority approval which could take days to get everyone to vote on it.

I'm totally on board with modifying rules, provided enough people are on board. Things didn't always work out exactly as I intended, such as the scoring breakdown

I set it to majority approval to add another layer of protection, but if everyone is comfortable with it, I can see if I can change it to commish total control

I cannot change it to commish total control after payments have been received, but I can set it to that for next year if people would like

So, we need people to go in and approve the payouts. This link should take you to our LeagueSafe home page. From there, hit the "payout status" tab at the top of the page and you should be able to approve the winnings. We need 6 more people to vote for the funds to be released. I'll send out a PM reminder to people shortly to try to get this taken care of quickly
