Wow!!! That kid is flying under the radar and yet his game is getting noticed big time. Congratulations! Very deserving player to get it. While his offensive game is getting better. Spurs is so lucky to have him and Lamarcus. Even Duncan will retire soon. They are in very good hands... coach PopoVich is one example of the luckiest very good coach of all time.

Kawhi looks like he picks the shirt he hasn't worn in forever when he gets these awards. Between last year and this year I can't tell which one looks more awkward. I love it.

You certainly did just contradict yourself. You say coaching during the game is a huge difference and more meaningful than coming up with a gameplan and attending practices/meetings yet your next statement is that the team can be coached by a 10 year old...which per your own words takes away the importance of Walton's impact of coaching during the game

What that dude fails to (or refuses to) understand is that all Walton did was maintain Kerr's system in place, and Kerr was still with the team behind the scenes in practice despite not officially coaching for some time. The concept/philsophy/game plan they played under was all implemented by Kerr. That he would credit Jackson for what the Warriors have become is... not bright because Jackson's "system" was the antithesis to what Kerr has turned them into (I would go as far as call it trash). The change in system is the reason the Warriors went from barely being a 6th seed to a team that is practically unbeatable despite minimal roster changes. A person who simply wants to hate will unfortunately take in none of this and continue to believe whatever nonsense they want to believe. But hey, haters fuel the Warriors so

If Mark Jackson was still the coach everyone would still be playing ISO ball and they'd be 4th at best in the West.

You are such a bad troll.

Bill Worrell, Houston Rockets' home broadcaster, voted as follows: Green, AD, Ariza. Now this. This is ridiculous. Even if you give him a pass for the home-bias vote, AD??

Good for him. Love the dude. I wanted him over Klay in that draft. Still irritated he lost last year though.

I utterly despise the Spurs, can't stand Duncan or Parker ... yet somehow I love me some Popovich, Ginobili and Kawhi ... I was hoping Kawhi and Jimmy Butler would have signed somewhere together last summer as I thought they could be the nastiest 2/3 defensive combo since Jordan and Pippen.

Congrats to Kawhi....he's an amazing player and even if Duncan and Ginobili might be retiring really soon...the Spurs have their man for the future.

I'm just so jealous at how the Spurs have continued to be such a force in a small market for more than 20 years now.

Truly amazing.

Where in the world have you been? A year and a half away is craziness. Nice to see you back.

I'd love to hear how Pop is lucky. The guy (along with the entire Spurs organization) has been DEVELOPING players/talent for years. Kawhi was no MVP level guy when he was drafted 15th.

Lamarcus was a nice cherry to get though, but they've rarely been able to pick up All Star level talent over the years, they've drafted and developed the players.

I'm so happy for Kawhi to get it again.

I thought Dray Green was probably unlucky last year, but this year it's all Kawhi.

Although Whiteside might own it next year.

Yes, if the Heat would actually let Whiteside play and not ridiculously give him well under 30 minutes per game, he could have won DPOY in a unanimous vote this year ... kid is a monster.

Personally, I'd love to see the Lakers draft Brandon Ingram and throw a max contract at Whiteside this summer .... Russell/Clarkson/Ingram/Randle/Whiteside would be the best young 5 with the most upside in the NBA ... even if they did still suck for 1-2 more years :-)

I wonder where these end up. The SP Authentic autos are damn near impossible to find.
