the 06-07 ex single card i have is a jordan - it's sweet

i think the 13-14 select prizm refractors look very nice. it reminds me of bmtron or some type of futuristic card. the fireworks set also looks sweet b.c the glaze it has on the card shows some type of unique reflection!
i'll reccomend the 08-09 topps chrome orange

I mean it's crazy for any one to think that a Jordan insert should not be had for under 20 dollars. The cheaper Jordan inserts are / become, the better, especially for collectors who are trying to build / finish sets.

Agree. These P/P fireworks sets are probably the coolest easily affordable inserts sets I've seen in awhile..I'm still putting the set toegther, so if anyone has any check my thread, I'm close to completing the set. (Have the raining 3's set too, but the fireworks one in hand is pretty darn sweet imo!!)

Certainly a cool nostalgic card, but I'm not sure I'd call that a 'great looking' card though!

94-95 Emotion N-Tense

About the 94-95 ultra defensive gems. I went to an LCS a few years ago and they had a box of 94-95 ultra. I wanted to break something just to break it so I picked it up for $35. I hit the mookie blaylock. I thought the card was awesome. Had to have the set. I went to a card show the following day and the very first table had the pippen for two bucks. It took me about eigh more months to get the other four but I have them now.

herbc, I own that card too. Sure, it's not the green or red PMG version, but it's the same design... just different colours. And 0.001% of the price.

duron, very nice suggestions! I've seen many of those before, but it's great seeing photos (rather than scans) as it helps show off the colours/refractors.

I wasn't in the hobby back in the day for a lot of the nice inserts being shown on here. Been in for about 4 years now... but I'd hafta say these are my favorites in recent memory....

I only have the Pippen, but I've had it since like '94 or '95. Pretty sure I traded for it back then and didn't pull it myself. Beautiful set.

My friend gave me that mj a couple nights ago. I had a ton of base from the set but not the mj. He ordered multiple online while drunk and didn't realize until after the fact, lol.

And yea, scans really diminish the appearance of most cards. Of course it's needed for condition approximation, but it makes cards very 1 dimensional, like a printout or such.
