Unfortunately I believe the mvp gets decided way before the 82 games is up. You can just tell when someone is ahead of the race and won't get bumped.

So I would say Steph curry will win it. I think james harden and lebron deserve it more as of right now. And Westbrook is just straight ballin. We will see if he can keep it up. But like I said I think the voters decided curry a month ago.

I say Harden or Curry. Harden has to bring it every night. He is the only superstar on his team(when Howard is out), he plays in the west and they're still winning.

Guys saying it is still Lebron that deserves it are just being homers. He has missed games and with the team that he has now, he only needs to put up 18 a night and can basically just cruise to wins because they have that much of a better team than anyone in the east.

Lol so the cavs don't need lebron to succes as much as any team needs any player? Hm...

It is Harden right now. Westbrook should win it media kinda doesn't like him though. Curry shouldn't even be mentioned after all he did in first half he still isn't the lock MVP by people right now so no chance for him. Lebron third will make late push when the cars are the 1 seed or 2 at worst.

No, I'm saying Lebron has very few nights where he needs to be special because of the team he's on. Pretty much every night, he can basically just show up and coast to 16-18 points, get his 6 or 7 rebounds, and get his 6-8 assists with his eyes closed because he's in the east and because his team is stacked

Westbrook, Harden is playing way more minutes and he pads his stats.

Westbrook is putting up Harden numbers in 3 quarters! Also Harden is so damn inefficient and plays zero defense

Inefficient? Are you #@#@#@#@ing mad????!!!! Talk about his defense if you want (though he has greatly improved in that area), but there's no way you can justify calling him inefficient. He's one of the most efficient players in NBA history!

Lebron has been awesome since hes been back, BUT you cant just forget the first part of the season. He doesnt deserve to win it this year. He should be a top 4 guy tho, maybe top 3.

Right now? Harden or Curry but if Westbrook keeps this up, it might be him

Maybe when he is at the line, lack of defense is a huge gap.

That's where Westbrook is head over heels above him.

If it wasn't for Westbrook's sudden surge the Harden for sure.

LaMarcus Aldridge deserves mention, Harden will likely get it

How many times have we had an ex-MVP (Durant) and a potential MVP candidate (Westbrook) on the same team? Not to even mention that they both played with another current candidate (Harden)... This OKC franchise has really done well with their selection of players in the draft.

I assume you mean being hurt?

LeBron averages first part of the season before he missed extended time...

25.5 PPG, 5.2 Rebounds, 7.6 Assists

Yes I realize the Cavs were "only" 18-11 in those games.

Best player on the team with the best record at seasons end. Therefore it will most likely be Curry.

Westbrook is shooting 8.7 FTs per compared to Harden's 9.5 (per 36 Westbrook is shooting more). Westbrook's FG% is lower (.437 to .452), his 3 point% is lower (.291 to .387) and his FT% is lower (.839 to .866). There is no possible way you can complain about Harden's efficiency when comparing him to Westbrook (or really anyone not named Durant).

How is James Harden inefficient? It is reasonable to question his defense although he has turned it around a bit this year but his efficiency....really?

At the beginning of the season I placed the following NBA Regular Season MVP bets:

Stephen Curry at 25-1
Anthony Davis at 50-1
Klay Thompson at 2,500-1 (that's not a typo)

I think Curry is the frontrunner followed by Harden, LeBron and Westbrook.

The cavs are stacked but can't win games when.Lebron sits out, that just proves how valuable he is

Those are all offensive numbers, which is damn close. As I said, the difference is the defense. Its not even comparable.

Similar offensive numbers plus defense, vs Slightly (Very slightly) higher offensive plus porous defense?

Harden plays more minutes and always seems has to play Hero for his defensive mistakes during the game. He PADS his stats alot as well.

Westbrook's PER rating is much also higher than Harden's by about 2 points.

Anyway, just Based on this. Which player would you choose?

2nd in Scoring, 5th in Assists, 2nd in steals 51st in rebounds
1st in scoring, 11th in assists, 3rd in steals and 70th in rebounds

Also, Westbrook is an overrated defender but that's another conversation entirely.

Factor in TS%....and I would take option 2. Defensive splits are fairly even on this season. I like the guy that creates 1.50 PPS vs 1.28. Can't go wrong with either player though.
