Happens all the time to me. I think it's because I'm almost exclusively in the Football section. Sometimes venturing into Off Topic. Probably couldn't name 98% of the regular basketball members.

Longevity is what I value. Takes alot to stay around and active a long while. You pick up stalkers and it is not fun.

Is this more of a "sports discussion" site for them as opposed to a hobby site?

I have wondered the same thing. Very little feedback and high post count is strange. Someone mentioned this is a scammers paradise and I disagree. I have made tons of deals and have only had two bad transactions.

One look into the Member's Feedback section says otherwise.

I don't see what is wrong with using this website for entertainment and to gain knowledge while doing transactions on other forums.

Definitely nothing wrong with it. That's why I phrased my post in the form of a question as to whether people simply use it as a discussion site.
