doesn't Leaf have such a database yet in their trinity product all the "sick" patches are not game-worn?

Honestly if you can't get use of the MLB License I don't think it's worth it. There's just not enough interest in unlicensed products.

I would definitely have pictures on my product. I am compiling all feedback before I start my company mission and strategy.

Honestly, cutting up genuine game-used material and sticking it into cards only adds value if the consumers value the cards. And consumers will only value the cards if you have a valued brand name, a license, or both.
I would do this but I cannot leave my investment job

Are you planning on
A) Not using licenses
B) Waiting until 2020 for licensing availability
C) Legally challenging MLB and Topps over the exclusivity agreement

Initially I will not have a license.

Would not wait until 2020.

Yes, would challenge Topps & MLB as that is a monoply.

I would use a database like this to avoid any questions on the authenticity on my products.

Compiling ideas as we speak. It really could not be worse than Panini as that is a sandwich. I would welcome you aboard to our think tank for initial ideas and planning on this project.

Is the plan to simply use logos and wait to get sued, then opening a countersuit to fight the monopoly? Or do you plan on initially starting a lawsuit yourself?

I welcome all ideas and want to create a planning team to compile ideas on what people in the hobby like and dislike.

Not sure on that yet. Someone needs to at least put up a fight against the monopoly of Topps & MLB.

Pretty sure the MLBPA might have something to say about the images of their members being used as well.

Use the money to go to law school instead of starting a card company. That way you'll at least end up with a JD and a much better idea about how wrong you are.

What you are considering is something like what hits memorbilia is doing. The guy who makes the cards buys GU jerseys and other things and puts crazy patches into products. If you are considering this I would suggest talking to them! Good luck!

You'd have better luck creating indie sketch card products. Check out what Viceroy was able to do with their first few products. You might actually make some money on that idea.

Thank me later

OP, what do you bring to the table?

Honest question.

Some bring creativity, some connections, some money, etc...what are you driving with?
