Yeah it a little higher than I expected. For that price you better get some good hits.

Interestingly enough, your link did drop the price to be a tad cheaper now. Do you know them or something?

Something tells me these bad boys aren't cheap. Still, I might go "mental case" on this one

Wonder if the "win a date with a TNA star" is a redemption type card or do they insert random cards to be sent in as an entry.

Confused. How can it be every 2 weeks, yet only 3 releases in 2 years?

Anyway, this is their 5th wrestling product in 3 years. 2 in 2008 (Impact, then Cross the Line), 2 in 2009 (Knockouts, then Impact), and this one this year.

This new one bucked their schedule a bit (Impact, Cross the Line, Knockouts - then repeat - Impact, New Era - this should have been Cross the Line), so I don't know if the next release will be the Cross the Line that this one should have been, or the 2nd Knockouts set.

Topps releases more than 2 sets per year for WWE though. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I'm a collector so more releases isn't a bad thing. I actually thought Tristar might get into sync and do all 3 releases each year, but then came this curveball, so what do I know.

Nopee. I wish I had connections like that in the sports card community, if I did, I would probably have a better idea where the card ive been hunting for is. Pretty cool how it dropped though.

Anyone have any idea how much a price per box should cost???

Was worth it to ask.

I'm still checking into various connections, including a local wholesaler that hopefully will call me back tomorrow.

As to a "fair" price, as I said before, I don't count the Obak cards as "hits" - calling the parallels "hits" was already stretching it, so there's basically 3 hits per box - 2 autos and 1 memoribilia. $50 per box sounds about right for 3 hits, but that's $1,200 per case and everything I've seen so far has been over that (but I am still digging).

Ive loved what Tristar has done with the TNA liscense. I do agree that I wouldnt call the obak cards a hit if theyre essentially an extension of the base set.

As far as I know Steve Borden has been the only person to be "Sting".

Unless you count that knockoff they used to be the "fake" Sting during the nWo run.

Never heard that rumor before. I have heard the same thing about the Ultimate Warrior, but it's always been Jim Hellwig. Except at WrestleMania 8, that was Kerry Von Erich filling in for the night.

Might want to work on that.

Rumors are always everywhere, just takes a couple of minutes to sniff them out usually. "HBK died" was #20 on the trending Twitter topics Sunday night, when the reality was that he had just lost to The Undertaker at Wrestlemania with the stipulation on that match being that if he lost, he'd retire. So he lost and retired, which isn't close to dying, yet the Twitter topic was going strong, even with as false as it was.

Ick.

I'm really looking foward to this one because it looks awesome. I agree your only getting 3 hits. I figure we'll be lucky to get $5 apiece out of the Obak cards from people trying to finish their set if we can get that. I like collecting some of the parallels but they aren't hits either. I don't understand it but you can't get decent money out of the purple true 1/1's much either. I'd think with low production runs, as many wrestling fans there are around the world, prices would be alot better. Unfortunately there are to many large sellers on ebay killing prices. I was doing great with Cross The Line until some started having Auto's with buy it now prices at $1.99. I mean how can you sell a Auto for 99 cents or 1.99 over and over like that. I've seen ones of the better wrestlers and knockouts like that to. I'm going to wait and see what happens because of this problem. I love opening boxes but can't afford to lose $70 to $80 a box if these sellers do this like with Cross The Line and Knockouts. I'm thinking about busting a couple cases of Cross The Line since the price has come down on the weekend special. Good Luck everybody should be alot of fun to open anyway!
