Here is the only Pierce Facebook page, not official I dont think:

No mention of release.

Not to mention not one mention anywhere from the Boston writers or beat reporters.

Ainge has until June 30th, he wont announce anything this early.

I've just found articles saying Pierce expects to be traded or released - articles from today - but nothing referencing the specific quote that the OP posted so not sure about that

A source close to Pierces entourage said he thinks hes gonna be released.

I think Ainge will obviously try and trade him before executing the $5M buyout option. Even then he could sign a cheaper deal and return. I see no chance of the Celtics paying $15M at this point though.

I can't imagine him being in any other team although I hate the celtics. I must say he has one of the best step back jumpers ever.

Iverson was a much better offensive player than Pierce could have ever dreamed of being. Iverson took the hits that could have put him in a wheelchair, Pierce just pretended to then sat in a wheel chair.
