Agreed. Gronk 2012 NT Auto 1/25 sold at auction for $56 yet another seller has the same card listed 11/25 for $138 or best offer. If the one numbered 1/25 only pulled in $56 you wont get anywhere near $138

I opened 2 boxes and we did a case and played a poker game to determine the order in a hit draft. the two boxes were absolutely terrible. I got maybe $350 back combined and no RPA. Pulled a luck RPA and a Jamal Charles 1/1 in the group break, but unfortunately I finished 3rd and got a Kirk Cousins auto /49. That was probably my best card

Well considering many NT breakers are doing it for the flip, yeah they don't want to lose out on money.

I would say if you see a stupidly high BIN on this product with no BO they are fishing for offline offers.

Might be one of the dumbest things I have read so far in 2013...

Generally, those who don't have the resources to buy a $3,000 are jealous and in turn, think of stupid ideas to penalize those who DO have the cards.

If they put it up for $3,000, they have to pay $150 to list it. If you don't like that structure, list it at $0.99 and let it auction itself off.

So you can have those same people bid up your auctions and not pay?

The Luck RPA's seem to be the only big $, a gold/49 ended at $2100ish last night, a few /99 (all the same looking patches)ended at $2200, $1700, $1500, $1450, $1200, a single color patch ended at $910.

Even the Luck prices (while certainly big dollar) are pretty low compared to the last few years. Newton was a monster seller if I recall. Even Bradford, who was no where near the hobby power that Luck is, was a $1,200 card at one point - even more for the Ram Face patches (as I hate to remind myself for what I gave up for my Bradford NT 2 years ago)

I would have thought, for the first few months at least, that Luck was a $1,800-$2,000 card all day long - and if you're patient you can definitely get one for $1,500 or under right now.

Autographed cardboard is a bad investment. This is a hobby and should be treated as such...

well, from a PC perspective- Luke cards are selling for double what they normally would. I'm sure part of it is the "newness" of the product though.

Panini prices themselves out of potential sales .They hired a new sales manager as well so maybe he is trying to see what he can squeeze out of people. $550 a box is till too much and then Panini preaches value per box .Stop buying their #@#@#@#@ and maybe they would step their games up .

Dont forget about those patches! I only remeber the Bradfords /99 with ram heads and Newton's /99 with Panther faces selling higher then $2K. Luck doesn't have anthing that can match up!

And if your thinking it's just event worn crap anyway, the proof is in the pudding. Nicer patches sell better in NT RPA's.

Well yeah - the patches definitely make a difference - but the point is the same. Bradford as a player wasn't comparable to Luck, and still isn't of course, but he was getting $2K on those great patches.

Sure Luck just seems to have crappy 2 colors - but a $500 price difference on a player not nearly as good is pretty significant.

WOW, within 1 week there is a 1k differnce in the price of a luck /99! I would be pissed at myself if i bought a card for $2200 and could have waited 3 days and got one for half of that. Then again, i would be pissed at myself for spending $2200 on a modern day card.

they're going down as we speak. The first /99 went for $55, black /25 for ~$80ish, then a /49 for ~$40ish. Those things are terribly centered and a lot of sticker run off autos.

I personally like the way these look....not as much as last years, but think they are probably still the nicest of this years.

Here is my question, are these still the top dog of rookie cards?

I still think they are - but this year is definitely a 50/50 for love or hate.

Alot really depends on how you feel about the "event worn" patch stuff (as covered to death in other threads)

I've never really cared. I care about a clean signature. Others care a great deal. To me the patch just makes the card "look better" - I don't care if the guy wore the jersey or not - but I tend to be in the minority. It's just a card presentation thing to me.

These NT are still #'d to 99, still a top end product, and have clean signatures for the most part. I don't care if the 3 color patch is from some "event worn" item - but that's where the dividing line seems to be. Whether you care or not.

The card companies made too many products. The market is saturated with all the rookie autos. Also, all those event worn patches.... (do we really want a name plate patch that said rookie?). Anyway, resale on Panini cards have not been good even for cards that look amazing.

Statistically, yes. But people think Luck will turn into a legend.

People thought Akili Smith, Ryan Leaf and Dan McGuire were going to be something also. I know thats taking it to the other spectrum so how about Carson Palmer and Vince Young. Big time prospects that did well in the first year or 2 then .......FLAT!
