Hey Gio, this is Joe

I miss talking HOF Auto's.. I still regret or better yet- miss my Top Fifty BGS 9.5/10 or better Top Fifty Auto Collection:-( but the money went to a much needed cause.. I'm thinking of making a comeback on this set but in PSA 10.. That would def be fun again but more expensive..

That Debusschere is awesome...

have you added any new rare auto's lately..

Little update in the HOF autos world...

The first ever Auto/GU combo of Elgin Baylor has sold!!!

2010-11 NATIONAL TREASURES ELGIN BAYLOR AUTO JERSEY /25 | eBay

and here's another one with a different pic, but both from the same product

10/11 NATIONAL TREASURES ELGIN BAYLOR JERSEY/AUTO 10/25 | eBay

Neither UD or Topps, or any other company for that matter, ever made a dual Auto/GU for Baylor, so Panini is moving forward a little... lol

I will maybe add one if the price comes down a bit.

I think these may actually be the second signed GU jersey cards. I have this card from 2007 UD Black (has Gail Goodrich on the reverse) that is supposed to be signed GU material. NT also has a few nice Baylor patch cards with no autos which might be worth picking up.

Wow I never knew these were GU, I thought they were manufactured... I have one of these also, but I guess the seller didn't send me the COA.

In 2006-07, Topps released this card amongst others (although it doesn't feature Baylor alone)...

I agree though, it's nice that Panini are making some unusual cards, e.g. Monroe patch, Chamberlain GU, Sam Jones patch/auto, etc.

Well from what I can tell there may be GU and manufactured versions. The #/50 patches of one player all say manufacturered and the #/15 dual say game used so who knows. They may be faked by UD.

Oh yeah Will, I definitely know about these cards, i've seen them a million times... I've tried for the Baylor 1/1 versions but got outbid every time.

I guess I should have been more specific in my post. What I mean is on-card auto/GU combo

Now unless i'm going blind and it's actually a sticker auto.

It's easy for any company to make a jersey card and then smack a window/sticker auto and call it a combo... But i'm really talking about the on-card combo which i'm pretty sure never been made for Elgin before this release.

Yes, Panini is doing a lot of new things and can't wait to see what else they do in terms of HOFers that never signed before, Cuts, on-card combos...

Joe - It's the Buddy Jeannette... I wish I owned the Yardley, can't afford that one! I think Justin was actually right, I don't think this comes from a document, but still looks cool. When I first saw it I thought it was from a document, but i've seen many documents and this doesn't appear to be as such. I will post a pic...

Justin - Yeah I definitely think something is up with this particular set... Because as far as I know know UD has never made an Elgin Baylor GU card period. Topps did, but never saw a UD one, so this is all wierd with this set. They must have messed up with the back COA's or something, because I don't believe these are GU. If they are real, it makes me wonder, why didn't they make another Baylor GU card in the history of the company...

Here a couple of my newest upgrades...

Kareem Abdul Jabbar... love the 3 color patch and on card gold auto, I will be using this card in my NBA 50 Greatest auto collection as an upgrade. Panini is putting out some decent Jabbar cards but most have sticker autos.

Sam Jones GU Patch. His first patch card to date and only 10 were made for this year's NT. Though not an auto I appreciate Panini giving us HOF fans something new. He also has non patch versions of this card and another numbered to 49 so HOF fans can add him to their collections.

I can't lie, that Sam Jones put the biggest smile on my face!

Two SICK additions!! As nice as that Jabbar is... that Jones is just too much, really beautiful card. I agree, Panini is getting it done for us HOF collectors.

I hate NT (and Panini in general) but I agree with you guys, it's great to see patches of players like Sam Jones, Earl Monroe and Elgin Baylor. It makes you wonder why they haven't been released until now? (Although I know Monroe patches existed). Did they suddenly find an old Sam Jones jersey lying around or something?!

Last year Panini posted a video of new jersey pickups, many which have made it into this years products. Maybe they asked Sam Jones himself when they signed him to an autograph contract. These items do come up from time to time in auctions so I guess they may be the bidder in some of them.

The only guys now from the 50 greatest without jersey cards are Lucas, Schayes, Cunningham, Greer, Pettit, Thurmond, Wilkens, Arizin and Bing so there is still something for us collector's to chase down the road.

I think the 75th anniversary can go either way... They will definitely have the 100th anniversary(hopefully I wont be too old to collect cards by that time lol). I wonder if they celebrated the 25th...(i'll do some research later). Although the 75th would have a better chance than the 25th would have had back then, but let's see what happens.

If they do, which players do you guys think are locks?

Wow this is pretty interesting stuff... So when they did the 25th anni. most players are different from the 50th, so this should mean that when they do the 75th they will change the 50th around...

I would think they would have kept the 25 players the way it was and then on the 50th just add another 25 players and so on. Too much confusion if you ask me, but let's see how things go on the 75th.
