Yep, Payton is another good example. Although I think Ditka screwed him out of a TD on that Fridge TD, but I digress.

Steelers:

Cam Heyward
TJ Watt
Chris Boswell
Aaron Rodgers (he'll obviously go in as a Packer)
Jalen Ramsey (Jags/Rams)

Zach Frazier - calling this one early

Tomlin - for his strong collection of 8-8, 9-7 and 9-8 seasons. Gross!

Mike Evans is not getting into the hall with 0 All-Pros

Mike Evans racks up yards by pushing off defenders, is too injury-prone, and only got his Super Bowl ring thanks to Tom Brady. In that game, he managed just 31 yards, was targeted only once, and had zero touchdowns, with the Chiefs shutting him down completely. Elite players would have found the end zone at least once in the Super Bowl.

Meanwhile, Davante Adams, from the same draft class, boasts three All-Pro selections and is a two-time NFL receiving touchdowns leader.

For me, Adams is an obvious Hall of Fame lock, unlike Evans.
Gotta be reverse-jinxing then. Evans has ~400 more yards total in 3 less games played than Adams. Davante has 117 TDs to Evans' 108.

I get that Adams was viewed as "better" in his peak, but I don't really agree with that. Very similar career stats here, I don't see how one guy can be an insta-lock while the other isn't going to make it. I think all-pros are extremely overrated quite honestly. Adams has 3, and Evans has 0. There's the big gap. But Adams had prime Rodgers throwing to him and Evans had who? Winston for the majority? Can't take away that Evans got a few years of 40+ year old but still elite play with Brady if Adams had Rodgers for the majority. Evans has a ring, Adams doesn't. Evans played with 1 team his entire career so far, I think that counts for something too.

Evans somehow seems to have more life in him than Adams I think, if he manages to play another few seasons he can crack top 10 all-time in receiving yards. He's 1.5k off Wayne and Harrison at 9th and 10th.

Chris Boswell? I mean, he's a good kicker, but Chris Boswell isn't sniffing Canton.

Only "sure fire(s)" I see here is TJ and A-Aron.

Boswell, Heyward and Ramsey are certainly in the convo, not sure they are "sure fire" though.

Pittsburgh: the fan base that makes the MayeVP group seem grounded

Watt is in
Heyward is in (if Bitonio is in from my post so is Heyward based on my criteria)

Boswell is laughable

Rodgers and Ramsey are both in but definitely not as Steelers

But you did play by the rules

Kevin Williams (Vikings) was a 5X AP1 and All-Decade team. It's taken him a decade to be a semifinalist.

Fair enough to the reactions of my picks, especially Bos.

But ssbledsoe's - As a Pats fan, your comment is extremely laughable when it comes to fan bases. "Grounded" and Patriots fans are the oil and water of fan bases - they'll never mix together

The hitman absolutely deserves to be in

14 seasons
Solo tackles - 851
Assisted -318
Sacks - 20.5
Int - 38
FF - 12
FR - 10
TD’s - 4

Compared to Polamalu
12 seasons
Solo tackles - 576
Assisted - 194
Sacks - 12
Int - 32
FF - 14
FR - 7
TD’s - 5

Polamalu was a 1st ballot. He was an absolute beast. He had 6 AP to smiths 2 but smith was probably robbed of 1 or 2. Not a knock on Troy but it kind of shows how media bias/hype can help shape the HOF resume. The hitman absolutely should get in

Don't disagree, but not sure that equals "sure fire".

Atlanta Falcons:

None

Bijan maybe in the future but RBs don’t last too long.

That’s fair

Lots of people, including myself with Bitonio, are playing fast and loose with the “sure fire”

Lots of names that aren’t even close

We are now saying “should get in” is the same as sure fire

Myles Garrett is sure fire

Joel Bitonio should get in… but might not

131 career sacks, had a very productive year last year. One more year like he did last year and he's in the Top 10 all-time. It's hardly laughable.

Bitonio
Ramsey
Heyward
Williams
Jordan

They are all the same guy

Same PB’s. Same AP’s. Same whatever

That’s why I said it’s laughable. It’s either all or none

It’s Cam Jordan, not Jordan Cameron who you probably think is in the top 10 of tight ends all time.
