That's some schweet Schwammkopf!
I have the two Topps sets, minus the sponges and sketches.

If they take the Star Wars angle with this chrome set, they'll just reprint cards from their two older sets, which do have some popular homage paintings in them.

They can also draw from the comic book series, 98 different issues counting the Annuals and FCBD editions. Several of them have what are considered "classic" covers, including this one by Bill Sienkiewicz. As a chrome superfractor, it would surely sell for thousands of dollars:

Here's the Superfractor-To-Have from the new series:

Here's the Kenny solo Super:

Voice actors can’t even sign on-card? Sheesh lol

Kids like this show though and a strange number of adults also love it which I never understood so I think this set will be in high demand much more than a Minecraft or something was

Someone should nab the Ren and Stimpy license.

The Ren & Stimpy creator John K. has a lot of problematic issues about him in his personal life. Not sure if Ren & Stimpy is that marketable anymore.

I met the guy, John K, and was going to work with him on a videogame project. Got weird, creepy vibes from him back before I knew any of these details. I didn't end up producing that game, but had him sign a comic which I've since thrown away.

This will do very well. Chroming everything is lazy, but obviously easy and popular. Demand is there for these 90s/00s nostalgia sets.

It does seem like Topps is in a spot where they can print money with pretty much every Chrome set they release. And then the subsequent sapphire sets tend to do well too.

I guess it works until it doesn’t. For now they are in a good spot though.

I remember an old season 1 Spongebob where Squidward goes into the future and everything is chromed. Hmmm...

I've never bought a Topps box before.. do we know the rate of autographs or sketch cards? Is it usually like 1 per case or something?

Also, is there a checklist yet?

I'm super tempted to buy a box or two if they're not too expensive.

What would you consider "not too expensive"?
It all depends on the pack/box configuration, but if it's 10 pack boxes, these will likely be at least $100 per box, maybe more. The 10 pack 2025 Star Wars Chrome boxes that just came out originally retailed at $140, but sell for more now.

Tom Kenny has been signing Star Wars cards for years, if anyone is looking for an inexpensive alternative or to make a custom. They're dirt cheap.

Those adults were kids when Spongebob ruled the world.

I was expecting something close to or under $100..

Also noticed there's hobby boxes and retail boxes.. not sure if both can contain autos and sketches but that's what I'm mainly going for.. unless there's some other numbered parallels or something else not announced yet

I would consider $100 cheap for any modern Topps Chrome product. I'd buy a case at that price. However, I think north $150 is definitely in play here but I guess we will see.

Right… in today’s breaker environment, if you are looking for value then focus on singles you want in the secondary market. A lot of good deals out there if you are patient.

I've never bought a Topps release before so I'm really unfamiliar with pricing.. the last set that came out that I was even interested in was The Golden Girls from Cardsmiths but of course that didn't have any autos or sketches like this one does..

Two EQLs today that I want to enter. Not sure which one I would want to win more, but let's be honest, I'm not winning either.
