This was posted on discord by the team, they are really trying to listen to the end users on what they want to see. I think even at $385, hobby boxes will deliver. Alpha and Alpha update hobby boxes sell for more already with a weaker checklist and now hobby and booster hits are combined in one sku.

We’ve mentioned it. The set is loaded.

Giannis. Brunson. Elly. Miggy. All unmasked. I *think* we will have Chet and Herro back in time too. PCA was slated but had trouble with some logistics so not sure. I mean. The set is just loaded man. If you F with boba you ain’t gonna be disappointed with the Griffey set checklist.

The active guys are way tougher on all fronts. Agents are way more nit picky on things (which is fine but if we have to make an art change that adds 15 hours of work it’s hard to slate that back in and might have to bump to next set).

But regardless. It’s. Loaded.

And Hobby Boxes. All hobby hits as usual + All the hits of a booster with a lower overall print run (except bonus plays make the move to Double-Megas).

Again. The Hobby Box print run is about 20% lower than it was for Hobby+Booster in Alpha and we smashed those 2 SKUs together. If people value the set remotely the same they would be like $700 boxes.

It’s not quite a hobby+booster because if you have one of both you do get more base and base foils. And you could hit 2 autos if your booster hits one. But aside from that. When it comes to the hits. It’s both boxes in one. With an insane checklist that’s both deep and wide.

We still have work to execute. But on paper I’m so very proud of the Griffey set. It’s the coolest thing I’ve ever led in my professional career.

And oh yeah. Griffey is in it. ��

$285 would've been an easy purchase because there's no real risk at that price-point.

At $385 (actually ~$400 shipped after shipping fees), it felt a little too risky for my liking. Not to mention, over the 24-hour period that the box was reserved for me (to purchase), I received 2-3 reminder emails and 2-3 reminder texts about it. That actually helped my decision to pass because it felt like they were desperately trying to sell me something.

In any case, you'll do fine regardless at that price-point and I'm sure others who buy at $385 per will do OK...just not a product for me.

thats odd... had you purchased before? maybe there was a different price for new buyers?! i do know they try to take care of people who have bought before... my 4 boxes were all at $285

Never bought from them before. Also won the right to purchase another box (signed up multiple email accounts) today.

And because I passed on the last one, they sent me an email with a $50 off code for some break. If only that $50 off discount applied to the box, I would've been more enticed to pull the trigger.

Hobby box is going to have the gauranteed auto. Opening day bundle will have the exclusive box with Griffey promo and potential promo autos. Both a good choice.
