What rim protector is available? It's gotta be a guy who can also show and recover because the Lakers are gonna get exposed on the perimeter, too. So guys like Capela or Gobert aren't really that helpful.

Lakers should have asked the Mavs to throw in Gafford (or Lively) in the deal. But I get it if they just wanted to accept the deal asap because they couldn't believe the Mavs were actually willing to trade Luka in the first place.

I bet if the Lakers called up the Pistons right now and offered Rui and a 1st for Stewart they would do that deal.

That was my exact question. What kind of defense do they have? Seems like maybe that's a next year kind of goal.

Pacers strategy has been pretty amazing. You had Nesmith get second round picks like Nembhard and Sheppard, and even first-rounders Walker (and to a certain extent Mathurin) commit to focusing on d as a way of getting playing time. But that takes time, competition, and system.

Covering for both Luka and an aging Bron, without AD at the rim, will take a real team commitment. Probably Hachiumura is the player you least want to trade. Beef Stew is too much of a wildcard, can't control his emotions at all, missed his own bobblehead night.

And the main reason that the Mavs decided to trade him, by all accounts, is that they didn't want to commit max money on an extension to a guy who is always in questionable shape and who doesn't seem willing to do the hard work needed to get in shape.

and with how great of a player Doncic is he still has only averaged (not including this season) playing 67 games a season and his rookie season playing in 72 games was his career high

Wait, you wanted the Lakers to ask for more?

It's like someone giving you a house and you asking them to pay closing costs. Just take the house and don't let them second guess themselves!

But it’s also like someone throwing you an offer then asking you how much you want for an item before you’ve had the chance to respond to their offer. You see the desperation and naturally want to ask for more even if the original offer was great.

I was told by the BO experts that the Lakers should have gotten Klay Thompson instead of Luka.

"LeBron James defies his age again, scoring 42 in Lakers’ win over Warriors"

I'm starting to worry about father time's chances lol.

You are either defending this guy’s comment or you are saying Eastbay is from the moon (though he is commonly known to pump sealed box prices he is trying to flip are going to the moon):

He is willing to die on his Pippen team-friendly contract take hill, particularly to defend his LeBron card purchases and his lack of MJs.

1) I don't know the context of this

2) I don't care

3) I'm sure you are misrepresenting it and this wasn't meant literally

It's a different time. Lebron going to 8 straight finals is a testament to his ability. Losing 5 sucks but he lost to the warriors three times, the tail end of the spurs dynasty and.. check notes.. JJ Barea.

Sad part is the longer he plays, the more people will detract from his abilities by calling him a Stat Compiler.

Eastbayak response:

Imagine if LeBron/Curry/Duncan-Parker-Manu-Kawhi Spurs played the same garbage teams as the Pippen team-friendly contract MJ Bulls did.

Easy 6+ championships right there.

Shoot, you could've replaced MJ with someone like Klay Thompson and got the same exact outcome.

Check out the “LeBron James, I’m convinced thread”

Eastbay is a well-known MJ hater. I didn’t misrepresent anything. We have all become dumberer for reading his take, which he seriously believes.
