Quite possibly the dumbest trade of all time -- the Mavs ownership should all be run out of town ... trading the best player (not even close to 2nd place) in the entire NBA who's in his early 20's -- wtf.

Shams is ESPN. All media outlets just repost the same info anyways. But the one the reporter works for obviously has to.

Luka signed through this year and 2 more years... these prime years of his career... the value is basically infinite to the Mavericks franchise.

Cuban & Luka would've had to have the worst falling out of all time. This costs the Mavericks hundreds of millions if not billions of dollars.

I'm feeling Shams fell for the bait... but if not I cannot wait to hear what the story behind Luka getting dealt is. Has to be super juicy. Worst trade of all time.

I just can't wrap my head around this other than fully being in on Kyrie and seeing the long pined for pairing with AD as the end game for him. Even then, this is #@#@#@#@ing awful.

Yeah, but what does Dallas get that justifies this??? Never believed they could win a chip with Luka, but the sure as hell ain't winning one with AD. And I'd rather pay money as a fan to see Luka, not AD

That's the only way that this makes sense for LA.

They are mailing it in to win a rang for the kang, and ensuring that they get a top 5 NBA player for the next 10 years

Yep. Just reported they were worried about his conditioning issues and lack of commitment on a new contract.

Does Cuban have a daughter? Maybe Luka slept with her? Or Cuban's Mom? The falling out has to be that serious

I don't understand why the Mavs didn't even bother to shop him around to teams with better future draft assets.

That's where I'm at. Specially now that Shams said that the Mavs approached the Lakers.

Luka talks privately with Cuban and tells him he's leaving after next season and going to LA. He knows how these things go, gets AD to try to make the conference finals.

They'll have to pull 2 more of this trades to consider them title contenders.

Even if Luka wanted out/ the situation was beyond repair...Dallas accepted the first trade offer they got?

So thinking about the contract of LeBron.

Player option for next year in LA. 99.9% chance he opts out now.

80% chance he teams up with one more God Squad in Dallas. AD + old flame Kyrie + KANG

I don't anticipate Luka and LeBron playing on the court together at all.

edit: must edit...bolded beyond 2025.

The only thing that will make sense of all this is if the Lakers force Lebron to waive his no trade clause and trade him now

NBA needs one of its biggest stars on the biggest team

Look at the chiefs look at the dodgers

NBA needs to find something out of the funk the league is in

This is so set up
