Golden Storm is a pretty sweet place to start. I some have the bankroll for that, but I’ve also become a big fan of Bowman’s Best Strokes of Gold set. Those are a little more affordable. |

I am definitely a fan. In my opinion, Soto's was the best of the lot and happened to be my first pickup of 2025

These cards are nice. Everyone keeps telling me the market will crash soon… when it does, I’ll be looking to add some of these

I keep hearing the same thing. I wish all cards would just go to zero so I could pickup infinity cards already....

A fun challenge. What I like about gilded storm is the serial-numbering, but it’s great they both have almost very little to no parallels. |

Looking forward to seeing you out this set together. There is a Carroll at auction right now that I almost bid on because it was looking cheap, but then I saw some nasty surfaces scratches on it.

They only made 24 base of each so Topps probably didn’t care too much about QC for this run of limited inserts. I’ve seen some with dinged corners and there is an acuna up that appears to have a creased back. |

Does anyone have a particular strategy going for smaller sets?
Do you try to attack the more expensive guys first in case you decide to abandon ship later or buy shortly after product release so singles don’t completely dry up? How does grading and breaking shelf life affect singles availability after product release? Last edited by hermanotarjeta; 02-11-2025 at 11:54 AM. |

Holy crap, Hermano. That’s some heat right there. Props for going after the big ones first. I’ll be super jealous when you get a Chourio.

Some of these are getting harder to track down as breaks are getting much fewer and far apart. Hopefully as the season starts more will surface. Chourio is one my faves from the 2024 rookie card logo class as well! |

They look great in some photos, but they are kind of disappointing in hand. Kind of flat.
I've got two, a Betts and a Holliday. Actually, I just have the Betts. We were in the middle of moving when I got the Holliday. Six weeks later and I've yet to unearth it from wherever I put it. Hopefully it did not go out with a bunch of broken down moving boxes. So there might only be 23 of those. |

Here's a 2025 MLB pre-season price guide based on the research I've done watching this set, for those that are interested. All prices are for NM-MT to MT raw cards and are not a solicitation to buy or sell, it's simply a guide:
GS-1 Elly De La Cruz 400 600 GS-2 Wyatt Langford 300 450 GS-3 Paul Skenes 900 1200 GS-4 Jung Hoo Lee 150 250 GS-5 Jasson Dominguez 300 400 GS-6 Junior Caminero 250 350 GS-7 Jordan Lawlar 150 250 GS-8 Evan Carter 150 250 GS-9 Heston Kjerstad 100 200 GS-10 Pete Crow-Armstrong 200 300 GS-11 Yoshinobu Yamamoto 250 350 GS-12 Jackson Holliday 350 550 GS-13 Mike Trout 250 350 GS-14 Corbin Carroll 150 225 GS-15 Ronald Acuna Jr 250 350 GS-16 Yordan Alvarez 200 300 GS-17 Mookie Betts 200 300 GS-18 Shohei Ohtani 1200 2000 GS-19 Jackson Chourio 450 650 GS-20 Aaron Judge 350 550 GS-21 Juan Soto 150 250 GS-22 Bryce Harper 250 350 GS-23 Fernando Tatis Jr 150 250 GS-24 Julio Rodriguez 300 450 GS-25 Vladimir Guerrero Jr 150 225 |

Really wish they included Witt over the likes of Tatis. I suppose it made sense to include all the rookies even if most won't matter to the hobby soon, but seems like such a big miss to not have Bobby on this checklist.
As mentioned before, these GSs may turn out to be surprisingly iffy on condition. I'm guessing there will be a lot more PSA 8s than 10s on these. Bottom corners are a bit jacked on a lot of cards and I have seen a surface defect/bubble on one card that I'm wondering whether it is a one-off or instead a common problem related to the gold specs in the top half of the design. |

The most condition sensitive cards I've noticed so far have been Pete Crow-Armstrong, Jackson Holliday and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. With the limited number of sheets used to print these cards, Topps probably just blew off QC on these. Certain players possibly in the middle of the sheets have many nice copies available, however. Many of the surface defects can be masked by the gold storm effect, so not sure how those will be graded. |

love these inserts. and they are pretty difficult to find, seems like there are maybe 3 to 5 transactions per player on cardladder so far. im sure more have been pulled but i dont envy anyone trying to put a set together!

Also, about 17% of the entire print run has been slabbed so far. Sealed cases have nearly disappeared and are over $7k when you can find them. It didn't take the breakers long to shred through a huge portion of the 2500 total cases produced, which means many of these inserts have been released into circulation. |
