Wow that’s a fantastic sketch. I wish more artists drew with this type of quality and not the toilet sketches that exist in 75% of releases.

The new Cuyler Smith "Trading Cards" series was just released and are now arriving in collectors' mail boxes. These are limited edition trading card sized art prints that are autographed by the artist and hand-serial numbered, usually to 80 copies.

When they first went live, I ordered some singles I didn't want to miss out on and a sealed packs of 5 for the "random" experience. The pack is $90, same as the cost of 5 regular cards ($18 each), but there is a Napoleon Dynamite card that can only be found within the pack. That's the one card in the new series that was not offered a la carte. The back of the pack wrapper is also autographed by the artist.

Here are my singles:

Loved the "Always Sunny" wrestling episode which the trio is from. A previous series featured Danny DeVito as Frank "The Trashman" Reynolds from that same episode. "Wednesday" is from the NetFlix series starring Jenna Ortega. Nice likeness there. Good ol' Wooderson is from "Dazed and Confused", one of my all-time favorite movies, all right, all right, all right. Jason Voorhees is from the original "Friday The 13th" movie, so I picked that up for my horror movies card collection.

Here's the pack contents:

Shown is the auto'd reverse side of wrapper, the Napoleon Dynamite exclusive, Troy Barnes from "Community", Stifler from "American Pie", a Gizmo Lenticular motion card from "Gremlins" and another Jason, which is a little unlucky, I guess, to get a double of one I'd already bought, but I'd planned to get another of that one anyway, so all good. The Gizmo looks amazing in person and lenticulars actually cost $25 as singles, so it was an added value getting one of those in the pack compared to the direct purchase price. The lenticulars are from a larger production run, 250 copies (likely to justify the production cost), so those will likely remain available sometime after most of the others have sold out.

Almost half of the new 40 cards have already sold out from the Gallery1988, the numbered editions. Once a card does sell out, a few artist proofs become available at Cuyler Smith's own online shop. Once those are gone, they're good for good, which is true of the vast majority of the nearly 300 cards issued to date.
Great looking cards! I should have bought one of those packs but they sold out rather quickly same day. I did pick up the lenticular Spaceballs cards. They’re a much higher print run but I believe they are the first ‘cards’ of Dark Helmet & Lone Star. Cant wait to get them in-hand.

I've slowly been picking up raw copies of cards from this set and sending them to cgc for grading... not really a set that's worth much but I think it's cool... I'm bummed on the grade it's my lowest grade return so far on the set

I wonder if there is something on the surface of that card that the scan isn’t picking up which lowered the grade. For n to see your collection of these growing.

I've been wondering about that also... only thing that stood out to me about the card negatively is the color on the back is a little lighter than others I've graded... would that drop it to a 5 though?

I'm probably going to send out another card from the set to cgc this week... hopefully this one goes better

I originally got this one back from cgc in december but it was mislabeled as a regular backscatter instead of a gold... I got this back today

I pc spidey and spidey related characters... so I'm happy to have this one back labeled correctly

Picked up some cool looking vintage tobacco cards for cheap….

This Viking really stood out to me…

And then I picked out quite a few of these 1925 Player’s Army Signs cards just because I liked the look of the symbols…

That's a cool card. Never seen them before. Are there a lot of vintage Disney cards out there?

I've never had a printing plate auto card before till I picked up this Silas Carson Doctor Who Topps 2016 card.
I only picked it up as I cannot find the regular auto card for love nor money - can't even see pics of it having been pulled. It's almost like they made the plates then not the actual card - you can get all the other signers on the checklist easily enough.
Anyone seen the normal card?
(sorry, still cant figure out pics, here's a tweet with them)

I sent the same cards sight unseen to the three grading companies that COMC offers.

Wow…I imagine the PSA was the last one chronologically. When 2 don’t work try a third!

I do think PSA is the most inconsistent lately…almost like a crap shoot sending things to PSA these days. Glad it worked out for you.

Happy to see this one come back today as a PSA 10. Some pretty cool cards in the now defunct SW TBT set. Hopefully they do something similar for Marvel.

I have a Magik that's about to come back from PSA that I'm excited about. The idea is that the epack achievement cards never packed out and should be extra mint.
