Crap. This has some serious UD Ultimate Collection vibes from back in the day, what with all that rainbow foil and clean lines in the design. Probably be adding a few singles to the PC from this one.

I do like the re-kajiggered format. I wonder if Houdini will be able to do some group breaks, it's been awhile it seems...

Anyone able to figure out how many boxes Topps is making? No odds, so I can't

Pure speculation, but in doing some "sell sheet deciphering", some parts of the sell sheet said the boxes contained 10 chrome packs, and every case had a party invite...

I think they changed the format while someone was executing the sell sheet..it now states 4 chrome packs, and random invites inserted with 100 total invites..

If the chrome packs were lowered from 10 packs with a guaranteed invite invite to 4 packs with a shot at an invite, I'm speculating the case number to have gone up from 100 total cases to 250 total cases. With a lot of these patches and things numbered to 5 or less, and several at 25 or less, I'm thinking that's the number. We will see.

I think Blowout has already sold 6-8 of these already, as they go away then get re-listed..

With the guaranteed invite going away for this release, you would think the price would go down...it won't, but it should.

Isn't the invite and all that comes with it a big part of the value?

Or did Topps see the strong Rookie class this year and decide they could print more of this for $$$

Product is a third of the cost but breakers will still charge the same as previous years.

it was normally valued at $4000-$6000 per invite...
So instead of a Guaranteed $4000 invite, It will be a chance to get a $4000 so If you don't get the invite, the case will not be worth it, except for the breaker.

No guarantees and the same basic price when you look at the hit rate. Awful compared to years past and all the guarantees. Paying 6k and could get nothing of note. The old format was good for breaks and high rollers.

I missed out in the drop, totally forgot about it. Nice to see Ricky Henderson autos included in this product.

It’s linked from Blowout Buzz’ post. It’s the second image.

The difference in the Merrill rookie patch auto appears to be that for the /5 version he signed half of his autograph, and for the 1/1 version he signed his full auto.

Release day tomorrow.

Interested to see how this new format breaks, I went over the checklist, lots of nice stuff as usual, but will be interested to see how it breaks.

Has anyone tried to estimate a number of cases yet? 1000?

Very back of the napkin, 8 packs of 4 Chrome cards per case = 32 Chrome cards.

Chrome checklists = 100 base, 100 image variation, 40 chrome auto.

Base and image variation - all color refractors, no "base" - in the following numbering - /25, /10, /5, 1/1
Autos - to the same numbering (only difference is the /25 is a "base" rather than an orange refractor like the non-autos)

So that's 41 per card. 41 x 240 = 9,840, /32 per case = 307.5.

That's the absolute ceiling, a bunch of these will be held out for damage replacements, presumably giveaways at the VIP party, etc. If they held out the 7.5 cases' worth, that's 240 cards, which is probably enough for that purpose. So maybe 300 cases? Give or take.

Off by a good bit here.

Easy to use the autograph relics or patches to determine production. 2,747 total relic autos at 2 per box. 2,401 total patch autos at 2 per box. Some will be used for the "additional hit" per box of course, so can't pin exact #, but it is easily 1k+ boxes made. 2,400 rookie showcase autos, 3,280 base autos, etc all confirm the same.

With 610 total specialty hits (superfractors, TTY #1/1s, invites, cuts, cut booklets) that will take that last hit spot, and some held back for damages, I'd say we're safely in the 1,000-1,150 case range
