The value is nowhere close to justifying a flight for an IP exchange.

After a couple night's sleep, it isn't a must have after all. Appreciate the feedback, though.

Did I mention it was a redemption? That's a whole other rabbit hole... haha

Good luck!

At least if it's a redemption and it goes through ebay AG, condition shouldn't be impacted. Guys just make sure the code isn't scratched off and send it on.

Correct

I’ve been getting smoked lately on eBay and their dumb eBay standard envelope. Postal service is delivering my packages at snail speeds and since it’s outside of eBay’s window I’ve been getting rocked with non delivered complaints and refunds being given to buyer and then a few days later all the packages are getting “delivered”

Good thing they are low valued cards

So in simple yes your likely 99 percent chance you will get money back

It wont even be evaluated by AG if it's a redemption, they'll pass it on as miscategorized to buyer. Actually it's likely AG checkmark isnt even on the listing since 'redemption' is a keyword in title that bars it.

In general you as the buyer have full protection on ebay purchases, and it doesnt even matter much who the seller is. But you only have 3 days to file for INAD. That could possibly be an issue with a redemption if shenanigans are afoot...if it were me personally and I was questioning it, I'd probably just stay away.

AG doesn't apply here since it's international.

Speaking of redemptions, what's the consensus of just providing the code to eliminate shipping costs/time/risk of being lost?

Sure, there's some risk of someone (seller) redeeming the code before you get it, but does that encroach on eBay policy?

I would say that involves risk on both sides…a seller wouldn’t have a delivery scan which is needed or a buyer could simply claim they didn’t get it.

Do you pass altogether? If you take a chance, what extra measures can/would you impose?

Buyers are generally well protected, but would you take a flyer on trying to land a unique item under these circumstances?
. eBay coverage. Go for it

Anything over $250 goes through authentication.

Not if the buyer and seller are in different countries.

This one wouldn’t on two fronts, it’s international plus it’s a redemption, but yea for ones that are, it’s generally a reassurance at those prices with AG.

But…. even if the listing was AG, a scamming seller could still simply not send it out, and keep your money tied up until after the estimated delivery date- which is even further out with it being AG. Yes you can still get your money back at the end of that, but something to consider.

I scratched one recently and had a hard time reading it. Took 2-3 tries to get it to enter correctly on the Topps site. And I knew some people have scratched off the number so I use a smooth edge and do it carefully.

I'd want the card un-scratched. If it can't be read, you can mail the card to Topps to fulfil the redemption.
