What team in Europe would pay a transfer fee and $70 million a year for the guy?

Sad to see it as I was afraid stuff like this would start happening but I really figured it would be guys in their late 30s like Ronaldo was.

You get to a certain point in salary and there are only a handful of teams that can afford you. PSG made a good decision moving him.
Neymar's transfer to PSG messed up the whole transfer market price wise and then left him in a spot where no one could afford what PSG wanted.

Time to go get gifted rolexs from random journalists.

Al-Hilal is the biggest club in Asia. Neymar is my GOAT.

for the love of the game

Brazil forward Neymar, 31, reportedly requested a 25-room mansion, a swimming pool and sauna, eight workers to keep his house tidy, nine cars and all expenses paid for travel, restaurants and hotels when he signed for Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.

Only a 25-room mansion and nine cars? That's nothing by Saudi standards.....

I had read it was for him to play against Bolivia in the upcoming international games.

Yeah. He's unfit. He was sent home from training during the week.

The Brazil - Bolivia game is eight days away.

All time scorer for Brazil and 2 assists away from having the most assists at the international level all time.

A true legend of the game.

All those goals and only six of them were against top teams. The lack of fanfare about his achievement is telling.

Croatia, Chile, Uruguay, Argentina, France, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Germany at the minimum. Plus good teams like Japan, South Kordea, Peru, Mexico, USA, Colombia, Cameroon and Ecuador.

Obviously you don't like the guy but I saw a ton of posts the day he broke it. I'm not sure what other fanfare would be needed.

Scoring against Peru and Chile is like scoring against Australia.

Croatia were an average team in 2014, and Cameroon were garbage back then regularly getting smashed by 5 or 6 goals.

Still, it's some achievement. I don't hate him, I just think he's a bit of a dickhead. He could have been a legend but instead he's kinda ruined it a bit since he's been in Paris.

Didn't he score against Croatia in 2022, in a World Cup quarterfinal?

I don't see the same commentary for Messi scoring against those teams, or Ronaldo scoring a lot of goals against Luxembourg.

Messi has scored more goals against the best teams in the world than anyone else, in this era. Ronaldo is just behind. Both scoring considerably more than Neymar.

Messi has five just against Brazil.

Messi has 104 goals in 176 intl appearances. .59 per game.

Ronaldo has 123 goals in 201 games. .61 per game.

Neymar has 79 goals in 125 appearances. .63 per game.

I am not arguing Neymar is better than those two, but the stats show Neymar's scoring rate is among the best.

Also a breakdown of Ronaldos goals:

11- Luxembourg (89th ranked by FIFA)
7 - Lithuania (144th ranked by FIFA, lol)
7 - Sweden (23rd ranked by FIFA)
6 - Andorra (154th ranked by FIFA, lmao)

Breakdown of Neymar's top goals:
9- Japan (20th ranked by FIFA, higher than anyone on CR7's list)
6 - Peru (21st ranked by FIFA)
5 - Bolivia (83rd ranked by FIFA)
5 - United States (11th ranked by FIFA)

FIFA is not the end all be all for deciding how good a team is, but 3 teams on Ronaldos top goal list are just not good teams while Neymars list is all decent teams.

1 more assist last night. 1 more to tie Donovan’s record.

Free scoring Al Hilal, who were scoring 2,3,4 a game before Neymars arrival, are now averaging 1 goal a game.

A 2 game sample size seems quite early to judge on....Plus they were playing the mighty Navbahor.

I guess we will ignore the 6 goal game as well.
